My mother lived here for a few years and recently had to move out. Activities and gatherings were great. MOST of the staff was wonderful. However, upon moving out, we experienced the worse service ever by the manager Randy and his family member David. My mom had a moving date of 31 August. I personally spoke to Randy to extend this date. I was overwhelmed and near to tears. I requested up to 2 days and we would pay per day. He was condescending but said that would be fine. That she could “take her time.” The next day I had to work and he told her he needed her out because he had already had…
That she could “take her time.” The next day I had to work and he told her he needed her out because he had already had someone moving in on the 10th. My mother is 77 yo and was doing her best. The following day, the carpeting people came to put carpet in. She still had stuff in her apartment. Mind you, all her furniture was out and much of the boxes were gone. Someone else came to work in the bathroom shower as well. Randy knew we needed extra days. But neglected to reschedule. My mother called me in a panic. When I arrived, I went straight to see him. He called David, who was just as condescending as Randy to verify. David’s response was that once he receives the work order he schedules the work. My response was “where was the communication because my mother had to stop what she was doing to accommodate the carpet person and she was paying per day. Which again Randy was aware of. He basically said they just get the job done so they can get their money. What about my mother’s money? Both he and Randy constantly kept saying she did say she was leaving the 31 st. But I had spoken to and had extended it. My mother did have to take another day, but finished moving out that night at 11pm. She went the next day, in the morning, to turn in the key, and Randy charged her for THAT day as well. She never even set foot in the apartment. How can someone take advantage of an elderly person and be so condescending. She was charged for 4 days! She was so tired the night before that she didn’t leave the key. And that was his excuse! So a total negative review for Randy and David for not communicating well and a negative review for Randy for only seeing dollar signs and not the person. He was still getting paid for each day.
Affinity at Monterey was the best place my sister ever lived. The care and concern was the best ever. A super fun place with activities and parties constantly, it was hard to beat. Amenities there are outstanding. Best of all the manager is hands on and cares about everyone. Randy is doing Gods work there and helped us do many times. He hooked us up with professional services and his heart is in the right place. He truly cares about others and made my sister feel like family every day. We love that place. There is always something fun going on and it is one big family. All the people there,…

We love the care she received. Thanks so much Randy. Clay Gill
I only visit here occasionally but I can say that everytime I come by all the residents are very friendly and polite and they always seem to be gathering and talking in groups and they are all kind to each other visiting this place makes me feel like there’s a little less stress while your there time slows down just a little bit and you can actually enjoy a conversation! You should definitely at least check it out and come see for yourself!
