Words cannot describe how incredible this facility is. They have the absolute most caring and attentive staff that treated my father like family and with the utmost dignity and respect. They made sure he was always clean and comfortable and the TV was on his favorite channel. They coordinated with hospice and advocated for him if necessary and were always very kind and accommodating to all who visited him. Every resident I ever saw was happy and engaged in a way that was appropriate for their needs. They have plenty of staff at all times to meet each resident’s need and the place is always spotless. When he first arrived they even asked about his favorite foods and likes and dislikes so they could make sure they provided him with food and snacks he would eat and enjoy. I could not have asked for a better place to care for my father in his final months. My only regret was not moving him here earlier.

When the difficult decision was made for my loved one, I felt at ease about Aging Gracefully immediately because it is a small place with plenty of caregivers and low staff to resident ratios, so the residents receive more personalized care and attention than a large nursing facility could possibly provide to their residents (and having been a nurse practitioner at various nursing facilities here in San Antonio I know what this looks like first hand). She is safe and well cared for and on a routine that meets all of her needs. The home itself is so cozy and quiet and clean, and I enjoy my visits here and can stay for hours and enjoy the company of my loved one knowing I am just there to visit, not to do tasks and chores. Cornelia and the caregiving staff are great and respond promptly to any changes or family concerns. I cannot imagine a better place for a loved one that needs this level of care. I live now with peace of mind and confidence that my loved one is in the best of hands.

The staff gave my dad dignity and respect during his last year of life. Aging Gracefully's atmosphere enhances the end of life experience by providing genuine heartfelt love. The facility is clean, modern, and flows in a way to help residents move about easily to cultivate newfound friendships and enjoy life. Our family was Blessed to know dad was in a wholesome environment that provided exceptional care. I have recommend Aging Gracefully to numerous families and will for years to come. I can not say enough wonderful things about Cornelia and her staff.

My mother was a resident at Aging Gracefully for the last year of her life after suffering a debilitating stroke. My sister and I were advised by the social worker at her hospital to consider a personal care home for her rather than a large nursing facility, mainly because of the more personal attention a care home could provide. From the moment we stepped into the lovely, tasteful, and spotless home, we knew we needed to look no further. Cornelia and her incredible staff treated our mother like a beloved family member; she was never considered a patient, resident, or guest. Healthy, homecooked meals and snacks were provided throughout the day. The staff had daily planned entertainment and activities, and the two living rooms, and each resident's room, had large TVs. Every morning, gospel music was played on the TV in the main living room, and the caregivers told me she was always the first person out there! She truly wanted for nothing; the caregivers anticipated and reacted to her every need. If any issues arose with Mother's condition, Cornelia would advise us immediately. Every time I entered the building (which is very secure), one of the caregivers would greet me and give me an update on Mother's condition. She was kept clean, safe, and happy throughout her stay. There is a large deck on the back of the building which allows the residents to sit under the shade of huge trees and enjoy the birds and wildlife in the large greenspace behind the building. Mother loved to sit out and feel the breeze and sun on her face. Cornelia considers this her life's mission, to provide loving, quality care for the infirm and helpless, and her staff shares her enthusiasm. One thing that particularly impressed me was that the majority of the staff were there the entire year of Mother's stay, there was little turnover. That alone shows the staff is dedicated to their jobs, their charges, and the facility. Staff turnover was an upfront concern for me as I wanted to maintain a continuity of care and not have my mother having to experience the confusion of having to adjust to different faces and personalities every few weeks. It is not inexpensive, but we found the cost was justified because of the excellent care she received.

The staff, caregivers, owners and its family members are the most loving, caring and intelligent people we have ever met. Our mother recently moved in and her health has significantly improved due to the excellent care. We highly recommend this facility above all others in San Antonio; and we've had lots of experience with other Memory Care Centers.
