Such an amazing community with a spectacular staff who truly love and care for their residents. Camille is an absolute gem. I had the opportunity to spend the day with her, and seeing the genuine love and compassion she has for the residents in memory care was truly beautiful. She cares for them as if they were her own family, and that speaks volumes about the kind of person she is. It means so much to see that level of dedication and heart. Highly recommend this community.
My mother lived in the Independent Living Cottages at Arbor House for 2.5 years until her recent passing. It was a wonderful place for her to live out the final chapter of her life. The cottage apartments are very well built, modern and roomy. The apartments as well as the landscaping are very well maintained. It was a very peaceful place for mom & seniors to have some independence and community with others. Daily meals can be delivered to their apartment from the Assisted Living facility kitchen right next door for an additional fee, which helped since mom didn't cook as much or if her…
My mother lived in the Independent Living Cottages at Arbor House for 2.5 years until her recent passing. It was a wonderful place for her to live out the final chapter of her life. The cottage apartments are very well built, modern and roomy. The apartments as well as the landscaping are very well maintained. It was a very peaceful place for mom & seniors to have some independence and community with others. Daily meals can be delivered to their apartment from the Assisted Living facility kitchen right next door for an additional fee, which helped since mom didn't cook as much or if her caregivers weren't able to. There has always been a waiting list to live there, so I would advise getting on the list bc your loved one will really enjoy it there.
This location employs nurses with no ethics that have been complicit in taking advantage of elderly with memory issues and that is a major concern if you are considering putting your loved ones here.
While it is impossible to be perfect with that type of care and services. They do an amazing job. We picked them because of the appearance, cleanliness, willingness to accommodate, and location for us.
This place suits her because there are no stairs or elevators. Flat exterior for easy walking and use of her walker. It has a nice little patio. Her place looks over a little courtyard. Most of her neighbors are respectful of her privacy.
My loved one was previously a resident at Arbor House of Marble Falls and the overall experience was terrible. This facility had lots of staff, way more than my loved one's previous facility did. However, when I visited, it seemed always, that my loved one was in his room. He was a talker and a people person his whole life, but everything time I visited him there he was in his room, even if they were having music time (he loved music) or games, celebrations, he was in his room. I'm not one to complain (mostly because I know they work hard and have difficult stuff to do so I felt awkward doing that), but I should have said something. Instead, I just went up more and spent more time with him, even though we were spending closer to $6,000 per month for his care!
I would definitely recommend the facility. Our final decision to go with Arbor House included feedback from neighbors who had family that stayed there and from friends who currently lived there. The food is very good and a la' carte approach to services makes the approach more affordable. The staff are very caring people and the facilities are very nice (clean and well laid out).
I had to go check on my Father-in-law today after his home health nurse alerted me of the conditions she found him in yesterday. He was sitting in in wheelchair in a filthy shirt and only his underwear. Today I found feces in his wastebasket with exam gloves so had to be left there by a staff member (pictures taken). He was sound asleep sitting in his wheelchair in the BATHROOM. He had wounds on his legs (finally healed with home health) from allowing him to sit in his wheelchair ALL day and not insisting he laydown and elevate them as per his doctors orders. Legs were swollen today so it won't be long before he'll develop more sores. Laundry hadn't been done this week because he was in isolation from Covid. What? I'm a nurse and we don't not do laundry because someone has a virus! He didn't have any clean washcloths or towels. I've lost trust that they will care for my Father-in-law and maintain his dignity and keep him safe. Find somewhere else if your loved one needs actual help.
