An elderly relative was a resident here from 2024 into early 2025. Overall, the caregivers were compassionate and caring, and the Manager and Director were very responsive to all my requests. I'm convinced that Avalon Memory Care in Irving TX does the best that they possibly can given their resources and staffing. But my experiences here suggest that more caregivers are needed at this facility to help deal with some of the residents that need more attention or a higher level of care. I think that more caregivers could help reduce the number of falls and injuries that occur here. My relative…

But my experiences here suggest that more caregivers are needed at this facility to help deal with some of the residents that need more attention or a higher level of care. I think that more caregivers could help reduce the number of falls and injuries that occur here. My relative was not a good fit for this understaffed facility since his dementia was progressing rapidly and he was becoming aggressive. Your loved one with dementia might be a good fit here if they do not yet have aggressive tendencies and simply need a secured environment with 'basic' assistance like getting dressed, eating, and bathing.
I had concerns about how patients are managed at this facility. There appear to be misCommunication between staff and management also seemed lacking. What stood out most was that these concerns did not appear to be addressed by management, even when they were brought up. This created an environment where patient care and safety felt at risk. I hope improvements are made, but I would encourage families to stay involved and ask questions about the level of care their loved ones are receiving not once at day but every day. For the ones family don't come visit lack the most care. If you can…

If you can understand a patient how can you take care of them or if a patient can't understand you to even tell you their needs, how are their needs being taken care of. Irving
0 stars .. came to visit a aunt & she had the same dirty clothes on from Tuesday … look like hasn’t showered ! Nobody spoke English , only 1 lady was helping (the sister ) ! They didn’t let us in the room after she showered ! 1 star only for the lady helping
I think I would like for people to know how caring the caretakers were. They were very friendly and very attentive to the residents. We were very pleased with my brother's care. Hospice came in and took care of his medical issues.
I wished we would have found Avalon 2 years earlier. I think is the perfect place for memory care patients. It is single story and open interior with homelike style. All patients are memory care, they have full access to walk around and visit. The staff are wonderful, continually go around and visit with everybody. The patients also visit with you when visiting. They provide entertainment which was reserved for assisted living in other places we've been. Plus the cost is less than any of the assisted living places. Their level of skill in handling a diverse population of residents. They also made sure patients saw the podiatrist, nurse practitioner, dentist etc
Staff is friendly. Will see water on floors which can be safety concern. Do not see activities. Food is sometimes too spicy. I would not think the majority of older people would like spicy food. Some items are not able to be cut with plastic utensils.
Avalon memory care in Irving took amazing care of my grandmother. She was in bad shape before we moved her there. They were very attentive to all the residents and kept a close eye on them. My grandmother was always clean, fed and taken care of. They take the residents outside to get fresh air and also have entertainment. The place is really secure as well. I wish I would have moved my grandmother in sooner! When it was time for hospice, they worked well with the hospice care. Communication was great. Facility was always clean. Thank you so much for taking care of my grandmother while she was there!
Its an ideal place to have your parent be comfortable and respected. I witnessed how Avalon Memory Care cared for my mother as though they been knowing her since childhood. She was loved by staff and everyone involved with elderly care. Thankyou for caring about my mother. One Love
