My grandmother lives in this independent living community, and unfortunately there has been an ongoing mouse problem, including mice inside residents’ units. It’s unsanitary and really concerning, especially for an elderly community. From what we’ve seen, management has not done enough to properly address the issue. This needs to be taken seriously and handled immediately for the health and safety of the residents.
My parents moved in on Feb 26th, then my father went into the hospital on Feb 28th and passed away on March 12th. The entire staff and residents were so loving and caring towards us in our time of need. Martha graciously allowed us the use of the upstairs rental apartment for incoming family at no charge. What an amazing community. I would highly recommend this independent living facility to anyone. The facility is kept very clean and the food served is quite good. My parents had a two bedroom apartment, which was very spacious. Thank you to the entire staff. The Schulz family
Brookdale has been a positive place for Vickie for the most part. The last manager made things a little difficult by getting rid of people that the community loved on the staff and trying to change the menus falling short, but we will see how the new manager does. Overall it had been a good place for her.
My mother has been there for a year now. I've flown up to see her almost every month this year. I've had several lunch & dinners with her, so I can tell you the food is good. I've gotten to know the people and the staff. I even sang a few concerts for them. Everyone is so nice and the residents are genuinely happy. I've talked with other residents that moved from someplace else and they all love Brookdale the best. They keep it clean, check on the residents and have fun activities for them. I would highly recommend this place
I love the people here and the food gets better all the time-- I have been here for over 8 years and I enjoy helping people and being a part of the activities-- I feel my needs are met - My family loves that I am here as well
I have made some really great friends-- The staff is friendly and the food is good. I feel safe and I enjoy the activities-- most of all I like spending time playing cards and laughing with my friends
I have been here for quite some time-- I like the people and the friendly staff -- I love to play games with my friends and hang out -- I do feel I get my moneys worth here-- I love all of the activities
Brookdale Grand Court Lubbock was very nice. The people were not as friendly as those at the other place. They seemed to keep to themselves. There was a lady who was in a wheelchair that came by and gave me a rude look. I asked, 'How are you doing?' She didn't answer me or anything, she just took off. However, the staff who gave the tour was nice, and everything was good. They had good food. They had a studio apartment that was much smaller than the others I had seen at the other place. They had a theater room where everyone gathered to watch a large TV. They had a nice place to get your hair cut. The facility was a long walk, but other than that, it was pretty good.
