Been here [time frame removed] and have been very pleased with all of the staff and residence. Everyone has been really friendly and helpful. There are plenty of different activities to choose from
He's doing well. We have changed hospice providers. We are now using Anchor of Hope and are very pleased with them as well as with Colonial Oaks. The staff is very nice and helpful. Of course, they need more help. But I think all the facilities do. I told the cook the other day that he needed to get a long term contract. The food had been excellent and varied. Today was not as good, but regular chef may have been off today.
I would say it's a typical assisted living facility. There was a constant change in the staff. The Director would say one thing to me and something completely different to my mother. It was difficult to get the Director to communicate with my mother via email. He preferred to send me emails rather than my mother. Exactly 30 days before her one year anniversary, the financial person sent me a very confusing email regarding a rent increase. When I told the Director he had to communicate with my mother, since she was the resident, he simply ignored me. They were proposing a rent increase of 15%.…

When I told the Director he had to communicate with my mother, since she was the resident, he simply ignored me. They were proposing a rent increase of 15%. When I asked why, the Director said, "because we can." They went weeks between cleaning her room and then said it was her fault for not reporting it to the office. The food wasn't good. They were ALWAYS slow to respond when she pressed her alert button. Several times I had to call them to get them to go check on her. She actually moved out on [date removed]and moved in with my sister.
Colonial Oaks has very helpful staff that goes above and beyond. Starting with the front desk lady up to [name removed]. The experience has been great. We as a family feel very comfortable with our grandmother under their care.
Our tour with Colonial Oaks at Campbell Park was great. The people out there are very nice and very friendly. The fact that it was only five minutes from where we live had a lot to do with why we chose it. My husband is going into their memory care and there are only about 14 residents in the memory care area. The whole facility is very bright. They have an outdoor patio. The insides are very nice, too. They have several different areas for just visiting, sitting, and eating. It's very open. That's what I liked about it. If you're in a wheelchair, it's easy to maneuver around. The staff was all very good. They told you exactly what was going on, what you needed, what they had, and how everything worked. They have two housekeepers who are there the majority of the time. You can walk in and everything smells fresh and clean. The floors are clean. All the counters and tables and everything were very nice. They have two little coffee bar things set up outside of the memory care area. They have places where you can sit down and drink a cup of coffee, have a little snack or something, and that's all kept clean as well.
My father-in-law has moved into Colonial Oaks at Campbell Park. What I like best is that it's practically one-on-one care. I'm not sure I have anything I dislike yet. His room is 250 square feet, and for a memory care patient, that's a lot of room, because he's also a fall risk, and so the less space the better for him. It's practically one nurse for every patient, so it's a great ratio there. The staff is exceptional. The facility is beautiful, well kept, very clean, and it looks like a hotel. The value for the money is excellent.
I searched and visited senior living homes for a couple months and so happy that I found Colonial Oaks Campbell Park! I was looking for a place where my Mom would be motivated to socialize more and this is the place! Mom is very very happy now! We enjoyed the family Valentine Brunch! She enjoys many of the weekly activities, loves the food and she’s thrilled to have meal options. (Thanks Chef [name removed]!) [name removed] at Colonial Oaks was sooo helpful in making this happen for our family! The caregivers are extremely attentive and treat residents with the utmost respect. The rooms are cleaned regularly and sheets are changed weekly. (These are things that did not happen at her last place.) The common areas and grounds are beautiful, mom also loves sitting outdoors in the atrium on nice days. Tyler, the Executive Director is very attentive to the residents and responsive to our needs and questions. Highly recommend this Colonial Oaks for your loved one!!
Searching for a memory care option that best suited the needs of our Mom with Advanced Dementia has been extremely stressful and emotionally taxing. [name removed] at Colonia Oaks helped make that process easier! We LOVED our tour. The community grounds were beautiful, but more importantly, the caregivers we observed were engaged and warm towards all the residents. Relocating our mom to Texas posed to be too much of a challenge, but if we could’ve, we would’ve chosen Colonial Oaks. Highly recommend exploring this community in your search of care options for your loved one!!
