He is truly hands-on with residents—helping with feeding, bathing, dressing, transfers, and responding immediately during emergencies. What stands out most is that he never considers any task beneath him; he stays with residents until they are safe and comfortable. I have worked in healthcare for many years, and I can honestly say that Mr. Bernard is the most compassionate and dedicated administrator I have ever had the privilege to work with. He is truly hands-on with residents—helping with feeding, bathing, dressing, transfers, and responding immediately during emergencies. What stands out most is that he never considers any task beneath him; he stays with residents until they are safe and comfortable. One moment that truly touched my heart was when a resident became sick and started vomiting in the dining room. Mr. Bernard immediately ran over, comforted the resident, brought clean linens, helped transport the resident safely back to the room, and stayed until the resident was stable and cared for. He did all of this without hesitation, even though other staff members were present. He treats every resident with dignity, listens patiently to everyone — including residents with dementia — and has a special gift for calming people during difficult moments. The residents trust him, love him, and feel safe with him. He is truly a blessing to this facility, and I pray God continues to reward him for the incredible work he does every single day.
I want to recognize Silvia, one of the employees , for her exceptional compassion and professionalism. She consistently treated my friend’s mother with dignity and patience, even on difficult days. Her kindness truly made a stressful situation much easier for us. She goes above and beyond, and we’re incredibly grateful for her care.

Focused Care at Westwood is a clean, well-managed facility with a caring and compassionate staff. Mr. Bernard Tanyi, (Executive Director of Operations) sets an example of excellence that continues throughout the individual departments in a high level of unwavering dedication to patient care and family support. A special Thank You is extended to Ms. Tonya Wallace (Social Worker) for always going above and beyond her regular duties to give families the information and guidance that they need to make informed decisions on a daily basis. Ms. Carla Hudgen is the perfect person to lead all of the well-organized fun activities. Her energy and enthusiasm help draw the residents out of their rooms and into fellowship with other people, especially during BINGO Games (a group favorite). The monthly Birthday Party is a hand-clapping, dancing-in-your-seats celebration that lets folks forget about their troubles for at least a little while. Thanks Focused Care at Westwood for bringing a ray of sunshine and joy to those who need it most.

I stayed 3 weeks and loved my stay, staff was great and nurses too. Food was good. They really care. Much love ❤️ Yvonne Campbell was my number one she went above and behond to make my stay their enjoyable, Yvonne has so much love in her heart and I'm so glad I meet her. Carla was also awesome fun and such a great person, beautiful spirt and great at her job. My favorite nurse was winnie she goes out of her way and does a great job. I already miss this place.
I wanted to write this review for the activity director at Focus Care. Carla Hudgen is genuinely passionate about the seniors at this facility. She organizes outings for the residents who are able to participate. My Aunt also attends various activities that Carla organizes at the facility. The residents are rewarded with gifts, which keeps them engaged and excited about their time there. Carla is also very involved with the family members. She surprised my Aunt by taking her and some other seniors to a Mexican restaurant for her birthday. I was at the ER sick when Carla contacted me and shared a heartwarming video with me. My Aunt was smiling from ear to ear because this made her birthday so special. Carla even bought a cake for her. As I mentioned earlier, she truly cares about the residents!
This the worst facility I have ever seen. My grandmother have gotten physical therapy in over 2 months, staff committing fraud on my grandmother case posing as a relative, they talk to you crazy over the phone, very unprofessional. Neglected her wound on her leg when she first got there for almost a week.
I am updating my review. This place and these people are crazy. They let go of the best thing that happened. Sabrina was the BEST DON I have ever encountered. I may not be nothing but a number Focused Care, but I was a human being to Sabrina. Do not come here, don't bring your family here. Ask anyone here. This was a big mistake! I will go wherever she is at. I have been a resident here for 7 years. I have had some good times and not so good times. But the past few months have been great. When the new DON, Sabrina, came on board I seen a drastic change. I have never had a DON that shows she care the way Sabrina does. She makes sure all my needs are met. She takes time to listen to any issues I have and gets them corrected but she will correct me too. Kayla is a good administrator too. I can't leave out Sallieu. He is the best aide hands down. He checks on me and gets me straight even when I'm not his patient for the day. Both Ravens and Lovelyn are good too. They take care of me with no complaints, and I can be difficult to work with sometimes. I would recommend this facility to anyone.
