My family has recently moved our mother to the Lakeshore Memory Care facility from another local facility. We are very pleased with this decision. The entire staff… every department… goes out of their way to include our mother and care for her. I guess the biggest compliment that I could give Lakeshore is… when I asked her if she was happy she said… “if I can’t live in my own house anymore ..I’m happy to live here”. Great job and thank you!
Beware! My father put down a refundable $500 deposit to hold a room for 1 month at Lakeshore because we were looking in Longview as well. They would not refund it when we ultimately chose Longview because my brother lives there. They keep saying we are going to get it for you. It has been a year and no refund!
I visit Lakeshore Assisted Living and Memory Care often to provide resident activities, meet with the staff and check on residents we help care for. Every time I am been impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and friendliness of the staff. They go out of their way to engage residents and ensure they have what they need. I see several senior living facilities, and I'm happy to report that Lakeshore is doing great things for the families of Rockwall, Heath and east DFW.
The facility is kept very clean and the staff are awesome!! The activities that they have for the staff are amazing. They also have family get togethers each season that are wonderful!! My mom is in a one bedroom apartment and it's very spacious!! She has a door out to the courtyard too. Not all apartments have that.
Staff turnover but otherwise a safe , friendly place for my mom. Docs and nurse are responsive, PT, OT and speech therapy are wonderful. Front office is wonderful. Caregivers are wonderful. Mom has bonded with more than one caregiver. She trusts them and that is everything
They don't do much for activities unless the nurses get them out of their rooms. They need to put more consideration towards memory care activity wise and helping get the people out of beds and getting them moving. For those that can't get out of bed, making sure they are still getting some sort of circulation for their body, and also getting some socialization and not just sitting in isolation.
They really care for the residents. They take their time with them. They are always kept clean and the place is clean as well. Based on the experience I have had so far, I would recommend Lakeshore Assisted Living to other families
We did the tour at Lakeshore Assisted Living and Memory Care on a Saturday, and it was very unprofessional. The lady was all over the place. She wasn't as dressed as professional on that day. We had to ask all the questions. She never told us a lot about the facility. She just wasn't personable. The chairs that they have for the memory care center, they said, they were getting those on order. It didn't feel homey. The room I saw was like a room with a bathroom.
