I toured The Legacy Retirement Community. Everything was fine until it came to the requirements for a dog. Shadow is a big dog. He weighs 65 pounds, but they want a 35-pound dog or smaller, so that's just not going to work. It looked very nice. The rooms were nice and relatively roomy. However, when I found out about the dog situation because I was upfront about that, then that pretty well put an end to pursuing it any further because my mother was not going to go without her dog. The amenities were very nice. When you walk into the front foyer, there's a piano, it's wide open, and there are…

The amenities were very nice. When you walk into the front foyer, there's a piano, it's wide open, and there are a lot of old folks hanging out. The assisted living care in the back, where residents were like in apartments, could come and go as they pleased, and those were relatively nice, too.

Poor customer service as I suspect to cover elder abuse. Constant denial to allow me to speak to my family members, claiming there is no phone in their room when they are disabled.. It does not make sense to put such a high risk patient alone in a room without a way to call for a nurse or anyone else. The town's assisted care facilities all operate like this, often leaving patients w/o proper bath and toilet care for hours. Very easy for them to be harmed from my experience as the town does turn the other way often to these cases of abuse since everyone knows everyone they will do a lot to…

The town's assisted care facilities all operate like this, often leaving patients w/o proper bath and toilet care for hours. Very easy for them to be harmed from my experience as the town does turn the other way often to these cases of abuse since everyone knows everyone they will do a lot to cover things. They are trying to force me to come in person despite their cellphone being active, makes no sense for them not to be able to not text me or call me from the weeks I have been reaching out to them. Family also refused to let me speak to them constantly--why must I show up in person to witness the same abuse over and over? I have seen proper medication mishandling and lack of care from all the medical facilities in this area towards my mother for years now and I'm constantly blocked from being able to assist her properly (met with threats and violence at worse case).

Both of my parents currently reside at Legacy Retirement Center. One in independent living and the other in Memory care. After having my mom in several other medicaid facilities, I could not be any happier with her care. I have seen other reviews here and took great exception to their reviews. I wanted to communicate, as an educated man, father, husband. and son, that my experience with both of my parents has been exceptional. The staff is friendly and kind, the food has been good, the care has been perfectly exceptional without issue. The Assisted Living facility is clean, updated, and nice…

I wanted to communicate, as an educated man, father, husband. and son, that my experience with both of my parents has been exceptional. The staff is friendly and kind, the food has been good, the care has been perfectly exceptional without issue. The Assisted Living facility is clean, updated, and nice inside and out. Living in both Houston and now on Padre Island, I am so please with Bay City, it has a good vibe, it has Good Hospitals, and so far, great Dr.s. I also found coffee shops, great Mexican food, a reasonable steak, and a great playground for me kids to play at.

My father was placed in this rehab and no wound care was done by the nurses. Except for one particular nurse he did not receive his nebulizer treatment unless she was around. His toe is now infected to the bone and is being treated for it today at the clinic. He may lose his toe or worse. Thanks a lot Legacy for your negligence. He also complained about not getting a good sleep because staff liked to yell back and forth between hallways.

I do not recommend putting your loved one in this facility unless you plan on being there 24/7 to ensure they are being taken care of properly. The main reason for this review is to let others know the truth because when they are grooming the family during the interviews they make it sound like everything is great when actually it's a terrible place. Management is horrible and they only care about making money off the Medicaid system. They need to fire one nurse in the Alzheimer lockdown wing for sure maybe two including the head nurse in charge. If this place was a tire shop I wouldn't take my car there!!!
