Lilian is very caring and deeply cares for her clients. She is a registered nurse and is very knowledgeable about physical and emotional needs of her clients. She also develops a personal relationship with them and us. Willing to go the extra mile
Our family trusted New Era Assisted Living to care for my uncle for about a year and a half. Unfortunately, our experience during the final months of his life was extremely disappointing and heartbreaking. As his health declined, he was moved to another home because we were told he would receive more one-on-one care. Despite those assurances, his condition continued to worsen. When I became concerned and insisted he be sent to the hospital, doctors discovered he was severely dehydrated, malnourished, and had multiple stage 4 pressure sores. Our family had never been informed that his condition had deteriorated to this extent. When I asked Lillian why these serious issues had not been communicated to us, she simply replied, “I didn’t know.” That response was devastating and unacceptable. My uncle passed away just two weeks later. While I understand that not every illness or death can be prevented, families deserve timely communication and compassionate, attentive care. We were denied both. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this facility for anyone whose loved one requires a higher level of care at any point. I hope our family’s experience encourages improvements so that no one else has to endure what we did.
My sister with down syndrome lives at New Era and has for 10 years. She has always been treated with the upmost care. They are wonderful to her. They keep her involved in activities and she is in amazing health! They home cook three complete meals a day and are very attentive and caring.
We cannot say enough great things about New Era Assisted Living and its wonderful owner, [name removed]. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this facility is run with love, care, and professionalism. [name removed] is truly a gem. She is not only kind and compassionate but also incredibly dedicated to ensuring that every resident feels valued and cared for. She went above and beyond to make sure our loved one was comfortable, safe, and happy. Her attention to detail and genuine concern for the well-being of her residents is remarkable. The facility itself is exceptional—clean, secure, and welcoming. It provides an environment that feels like home, but with the added security and care that put our minds at ease. The meals are absolutely fantastic—nutritious, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. We feel so grateful to have found New Era Assisted Living. Our loved one was treated with respect and dignity, and we always felt reassured knowing they were in such capable hands.
Caregivers are wonderful! Food somewhat monotonous but is being fixed. Had been getting rides to medical appointments, but that has stopped and was getting prescriptions picked up but unsure of future. These were high on my list of which place to pick. Rooms are large: have queen bed, chest of drawers, might stand, bureau and small end table.and closet. Have wifi and 5 g internet Rooms are pretty sound proof..which is great for me since I'm hard of hearing and to crank up the sound. And cable TV
When we toured this home, we quickly realized it was not for my husband. It was not very handicap accessible. The person that took us around was friendly and helpful, but because my husband is in a wheelchair it was not a good fit.
My mom was at a large, expensive facility before. Although it was a lovely place, there were too many people and constantly changing caregivers, and it was overwhelming for her to deal with. She never really adjusted in the two years she was there. She has quickly adjusted to the group home environment, and just loves the caregivers at New Era! She feels comfortable (much more than before) and has been much happier interacting with a smaller group of people. Great people, and a home kept in great repair and very clean. Highly recommended.
New Era Assisted Living is a small, at-home atmosphere, and the cooks are very good. I like that because it's like a family-type atmosphere, so Jim feels right at home. The other night, they all went out to the movies together. I thought it was clean and well-managed. If I wished anything, it would be that it be a little less expensive, but it really isn't very expensive compared to other places that I looked at.
