New forest haven is NOT for the faint of heart. The residents are very cleanish. The food is fair but not great. Getting things fixed is a problem. The cleaning is something else. When moved here we had 3 types of dinner etc, not now. Things have changed but for the good. Apartment is nice in the size we have, others are smaller but for 1 person ok, new residents will have to make their own decision to move here.
The staff is accommodating and the tenants are friendly. The van being down was a slight inconvenience. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families.
It seemed like the right fit at first. But there seems to be issues that cannot be resolved. My sister and my brother have spoken to staff numerous times. We are still waiting for the cable to get connected Her dishwasher has yet to be replaced Issue with her key to her door and the door sticking. And recently there was an issue with her getting served in the dining hall. My sister and brother had to intervene and finally got that resolved for the dining hall....I believe We are still waiting on the other items. My sister and brother had to intervene and finally got that resolved for the dining hall....I believe We are still waiting on the other items. She gets late notices yet my sister had writes my mother's bills and delivers the check to the front. I really don't know what to think or which way to turn. My brother ended up having to do her shelf repair in her closet because it was sagging so bad and we asked that maintenance come up and they never did. Also my brother had to add shelves in her closet in the kitchen for food storage because they never did that either.
Very positive! It's a friendly place and well run. Highly recommended! We picked this community because of the affordability.
Sometimes, the maid skimps on cleaning the shower. Many times, eggs, bacon, sausage, or Canadian bacon not included for breakfast. Only protein served is yogurt. There were supposed to be movie nights once a week, but that hasn't happened. The shuttle won't take [name removed] to the nearby Gold's Gym. The shuttle isn't always working. We feel it's a good value for the cost, but we still don't like the fact that breakfast served there is not that nutritious or good for residents with blood sugar problems. [name removed] has a medicine that affects her blood sugar. The breakfast there has too many carbs. On the positive side, we got my friend [name removed] to move to New Forest Haven in [date removed]. He likes it and has another friend there [name removed] who also moved there recently. Yes, We recommended New Forest Haven to [name removed], and he moved there. His friend [name removed] heard about [name removed] recommendation, and she moved there.
I'm in New Forest Haven. They're good. They have the best location and the best price. I'm still kind of new here. I've gotten involved with some of the activities. I'm very happy with the food. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner have all been good. The walls are thick enough to where you don't have to worry that much about making too much noise or too much sound for other folks. They seem to keep the facilities clean. I'm happy with my apartment. One reason I chose it is it had all the amenities that I needed. It's got a refrigerator, a stove, plenty of cabinet space, a full cabinet, and stuff like that. As part of the cost, they have wi-fi, which meets my needs. It's not too far from the old location where I had my home, so I'm familiar with the area. I'm ex-military, so I go to the Veteran's Administration, the VA Hospital here, which is very close and there's also a VA clinic, which is very close. I'm in between both of them so I can go to doctor's appointments very quickly and very easily and don't have to go very far. They had a full apartment with everything that I needed. I was impressed when I first came based on what it was going to cost me. The staff has been courteous. The people I've interacted with the most in the beginning are the salespeople, but the past few days I've been dealing mostly with the kitchen staff. We are fed sit-down meals. The waitresses and waiters have been very good and very courteous. I have no complaints. This facility is independent living. They have a separate building for assisted living. It's made up of about nine buildings altogether, eight of which are all attached to each other. It's pretty big. It's kind of like two big squares. There's a building one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, and you have to sometimes go between one building to another to do things. I'm located in Building Six. I'm close to where most of the stuff is in the main building where the cafeteria is and everything. It takes a little while to understand the layout because it's a little complex, but once you get used to it, it's easier.
They are very good with the residents and are very understanding. They treat the residents with respect and are very caring. They could also make some improvements on the food.
My mom's overall experience at New Forest Haven Assisted Living has been good. [Name removed] is an outstanding and caring Director. The CNAs and other staff are good to great. I have found the Assisted Living building to be well cared for, comfortable and clean. Everyone has been welcoming and friendly. The food is just okay, but I think New Forest Haven is aware of this. My mom's studio apartment is nice and the level of care has been refreshing. New Forest worked to create a plan that was affordable.
