The staff here is wonderful!
I excepted more after having been there before a few years ago for my mom and being profoundly impressed (unfortunately she passed before she moved in). Just visited last week and it was after business hours so there was no manager to speak to and I didn't recognize any faces, but my entire impression was poor. So poor that I felt compelled to write a review to warn others that are seeking care. The staff was very rude, totally disinterested in the patients, on their phones. People were knocked out, looked overmedicated, it was really sad. There were a few roaches in the hallways and in the…

There were a few roaches in the hallways and in the kitchen on the counter that goes between the kitchen and dining room. So unsanitary. There was also two patients sitting outside and it was very hot over 95 degrees. Try to avoid if at all possible.

When I initially moved my Great-Aunt to the facility, it was owned by another company that made big promises but showed its true colors on days 1 and 2 of the move by nit delivering on its promises of great care. On day 3, I found an old mattress on the floor of her room. By now, I was livid. I marched into the Admin office only to find someone new who was well dressed and looked very professional. I explained the issue, and she responded by informing me that she was the new owner. She decided to report in the evening to assess the night shift. She personally changed my Aunt's mattress, changed her, and ensured all was well. Thanks to her, my Aunt's 10 month stay was superb with all of the changes she implemented and new staff members she hired. So, I recommend Serenity Oaks to anyone who truly wants the best care for their loved one.
My father has lived at Serenity Oaks for the last seven months, and we love the care he receives. My family and I moved him there after touring the facility, talking to the new owner, and visiting with the staff. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, and the kitchen is gleaming. We have often joined Dad for their monthly celebrations and activities, and the food is great. The owner and staff care for the residents. It’s easy to see in their daily interactions and in how clean, comfortable, and well cared for the residents are. They let us visit at any hour and offer us kindness and hospitality during every visit. The residents regularly participate in activities, have a multitude of therapies available to them, and have scheduled hydration and snack times throughout the day, as well as opportunities to exercise. The courtyard between the buildings is open, airy, and beautifully landscaped, allowing residents to move freely between them. I, too, initially had my doubts and saw the reviews from the previous ownership before touring, but I chose to give the facility a chance after a stellar recommendation from the representative of the Texas long-term care Ombudsman, who was helping us navigate a complaint about the previous facility where Dad had lived. If you're looking for a place to help care for your loved ones, please consider popping by the facility and checking it out.
I recently moved my wife from a nearby facity to Serenity Oaks. What a difference! My wife is doing so much better. I could see the difference within a couple of days. My stress is gone as I know that [name removed] is given the care that everyone should get. God guided us to Serenity Oaks, we had to endure some pain getting here, but now that I'm here I see how true caring people take care of your loved ones. I am so lucky to have made a call to a friend that referred me here.
I just moved my wife from a nearby memory care facility to Serenity Oaks. The difference is like night and day. I now have a piece of mind that Mollie is being well taken care. The rooms are nice and spacious. The food smells so good. Everyone puts their heart into it. I feel so lucky that I was able to find Serenity Oaks.
