So far my father had been here at Seven Acres since December 26th and He and I are VERY happy with every his care and especially those who have provided him with services… I highly recommend the facility… I have nothing but respect for the community ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What I like least about Seven Acres is, during weekends, they have agency people who work for them, and they don't know where everything is at all. They don't know where things are. The facilities were very clean. However, a lot of times when I was there, I found myself having to do some things for myself. Like if they want water, the nurses are to get water for them. If you go into the cafeteria to get water, they will get mad and say that you're supposed to let the nurse get the water and things like that. But if they don't have water right then and there, you got to wait until they come…

The facilities were very clean. However, a lot of times when I was there, I found myself having to do some things for myself. Like if they want water, the nurses are to get water for them. If you go into the cafeteria to get water, they will get mad and say that you're supposed to let the nurse get the water and things like that. But if they don't have water right then and there, you got to wait until they come and do their rounds, so I didn't like that. The rooms were nice. They have everything in there. They have a workout place. They have someone to come to work them out. They have a salon. However, I don't feel that my mom would like to live there. She was there for several weeks because she broke her hip. When we first did the tour, everything was fine. But then afterward they slacked up a little bit. And I don't like the fact you only get a shower on certain days. Some of the nurses were lazy. It seemed like they didn't care at all. They did everything because my mom couldn't do anything, so they helped her with the food. Some of the staff members were good, but the problem with them is that they changed so freely, so you never know who to ask. I put a board in the room, and I told them to write down the nurse-in-charge and the supervisor-in-charge so that I would know when I come in there who to ask if something is not right. Another lady there had the same first name as my mother, but with a different last name. They picked up their clothes and put little labels on them, but they always mixed up their clothes.

I am a long time volunteer at both 7 Acres and the Medallion, along with my late Mother. This is one of the nicest places to be if you need nursing home care. My Mother, may she rest in peace, was a resident for the last year and a half of her life. She was well taken care of and I was and am still grateful to the nursing staff and doctor. I still volunteer there, not now with COVID, and I miss my resident friends and the staff. I love every moment of my volunteer work there and as another volunteer said it is a mitzvah, a good deed. Long overdue review, but this should be said. After Hurricane Harvey blew through the city, leaving destruction in its wake, Seven Acres added to the stress and confusion of the aftermath with the following situation: This facility gave only a a few days notice to tell us to move our relative to a different nursing home, or otherwise he would have been effectively homeless. It was a no contest decision, meaning that all affected residents and their families had no chance of negotiating to stay at the facility. The meeting to notify affected residents and families happened on a Sunday, and all affected residents had to be out by the following Friday. It was an extremely unethical and irresponsible decision by the Seven Acres Board and Top Management. They shifted the blame onto the state regulatory bodies who "forced" them to make such a decision because of apparent over-crowding on the upper floor, as the first floor was damaged by the floods and needed repairs. The selection for removal was arbitrary and was not related to the behaviors or financial situations of the affected residents. Additionally, we were promised a smooth transition from Seven Acres to the new facility with all personal effects and records. intact. However, the transfer itself was a giant mess, with our relative getting dropped off at an entirely different location with someone else's belongings after we were told he would be going to the right location. They also were not able to transfer the records successfully due to faulty fax machines and actually refused to release these records until we perservered for them. We spent a whole day tracking down our relative, his belongings, and the records. The management at the top was extremely unhelpful as well, not answering our inquiries and daring to go on vacation instead of solving problems. I would beware of this facility should any natural disaster affect them again. They do not have your or your relative's best interests at heart and cannot be bothered to solve problems when they arise.

Seven Acres gave only two to four day-notice to remove approximately 65 residents, including our parent, from their facility on the evening of September 25, 2017 . All selected residents have to be moved to other facilities by September 29, 2017. The residents and their families have very little time to select another facilities and they have no options to plea to stay with Seven Acres, regardless of other hardships that these families, including mine, were going through due to the Harvey flooding in Houston. It is extremely unfair and irresponsible for Seven Acres Board and Top Managements to have this kind of practice. They blamed on the state regulatory bodies to force them to make such decision due to over-crowding on the upper floor after the first floor was flooded and is under repair. The removal of these residents have nothing to do with the behaviors or financial situations of the residents. We were promised to have a smooth transition and all the supports from Seven Acres to transfer the residents, their medical records, other documents and belongings smoothly to another facilities. To our surprise, nothing is working right at Seven Acres. They do not have electronic copies of medical records. Their fax machine was broken and they could not email the medical records properly to the new facilities. It ended up the residents' families or the representatives of the new facilities had to go and pick up the hard copies of the medical records at Seven Acres. The whole day was lost just to get the medical records transfer to obtain acceptance approval from the new facilities. It was extremely stressful for the residents' families that had to move their loved ones within two to four days. On the day of transfer, Top Management of Seven Acres failed to make sure the staff did the transfer of residents and their belongings properly. They transferred our parent to a wrong facility, even though we have confirmed the name and location of the new facility of my parent to three different employees of Seven Acres, as well as, the driver of the transport van on the day of transfer. We had to track my parent down to re-transfer to the correct facility. The belongings and their wheel chairs are missing or mixed up while the residents were transferred. We tried to follow up and the Top Management was not helpful at all. We were kicked around to different personnel. To this day, we still do not know the whole truth. It makes you wonder whether it is really the state regulatory bodies that had given the two to four days notice to remove our loved ones. Seven Acres got to know the overcrowding problem since the flooding in August 2017. We wonder why these residents' families were not notified a month ago (i.e., in August 2017 , right after the flooding) Also, the removal of residents process is not transparent. We were told that the high-risk residents need to be removed due to health risk or due to low profit margin of these residents. Everything is questionable and the residents, the residents' families and even the employees were kept in the dark. This is a nightmare for any family who has loved ones at Seven Acres or other facilities that have poor management from the top!!!

My mother is doing rehab at Seven Acres. They have an assisted living place for follow up after she's done with rehab. The place is nice. My mother says things are progressing well, so they're doing a fine job with the rehabilitation. I saw the food and it looked very good to me.

DO NOT take your family member there. The staff is very uncaring at least in the assisted living part and the alzheimers unit - i have had family in both units and they are AWFUL! The director at the Assisted Living unit is about as bad as most of the employees to be honest - its a constant "oh yes, no you are right they should not do that.." and what happens? Nothing, they do not care about the residents at all. Its a nice place to look at - but the care is awful unless you want to hire your own personal aide which about 40-50% of the residents do. Just a heads up if you are thinking about that place...

My father was diagnosed with Dementia & Alzheimer's almost 5-years ago. in 2011, we had to move Dad to Seven Acres where he lived for over 4-years - on the Alzheimer's floor. The care and compassion shown to him during these last years was so much more than we could have hoped. We were at peace knowing he was treated with respect and love. We want to thank the entire staff, and especially those on the 2nd floor Miller unit for their love. Dad passed away a few weeks ago and the outpouring of caring meant more than they could ever possibly know.
