I’ll update this review if anything changes. The hardest decision our family has ever had to face was accepting that my mother may need a different level of care outside of our home. Placing someone you love in an assisted living facility is not something we ever imagined having to do, and it was not a decision we made easily. This decision came with so many emotions guilt, sadness, fear, and the constant questioning of whether you are making the right choice for someone who spent her entire life taking care of you. Since my mother has been at Silver Creek, I have noticed a change in her emotional well being. Despite her health challenges, I see a difference in her. I see her more engaged, more talkative, and more willing to interact. I believe she feels safer, heard, understood, and cared for, and that has made a meaningful difference in her quality of life. At the end of the day, what every family wants is to see their loved one happy. Seeing that change in my mother has helped reassure us that Silver Creek was the right decision for her. Today, I had a concern involving communication with one of the nurses. As a family, we are still learning how to navigate this new chapter of my mother’s life, and because of everything we have been through, situations involving her health can feel overwhelming. I brought my concern forward, and I was able to speak with the appropriate people very quickly. The concern was addressed professionally, and we were able to move forward with the focus returning where it belongs, on my mother’s care. One thing I want to share is that the staff in this facility are trained professionals. Their responsibility is to advocate for the patient, make decisions, and provide care. Sometimes professionalism can be misunderstood as being distant or uncaring, but in my experience, that is not the case. In fact, that calm and professional approach is exactly what families need when they are going through an emotional and difficult time. I have spent enough time at Silver Creek to notice the environment. It is clean, the staff members seem genuinely happy to be there, and there is a sense that many employees truly care about the residents they serve. No facility is perfect. Healthcare is complex, and sometimes things can be missed. What matters is how concerns are handled, whether people listen, communicate, and work together to improve the situation. That has been my experience at Silver Creek. My family has experienced another facility where communication and care did not meet the standard we hoped for, and that experience was extremely painful. Because of that, I do not take good care lightly. Here, I see a team that communicates, responds, and treats my mother with dignity. Every time I see my mother, she is clean, cared for, and receiving the attention she needs. She is eating and engaging a little more each day. For the first time in many months, I feel like I can breathe a little easier knowing she is in a place where she is being cared for. Thank you to everyone at Silver Creek for the work you do every day. Caring for people is not easy, but it matters more than you know to the families who trust you with the people they love. I would like to give kuddos to Rebecca, she went on an appointment with my mother due to my own health restrictions. I am so glad to know that they sent someone who was so kind, compassionate and caring. This person brightens my mothers day because all i hear after her appointment was how she had a great time and felt safe. Thank you Rebecca for taking care of the residents that need the extra help! :)
