Good evening! I want to take a moment to give kudos to CNA Ms. Elaine, who works on the 100 Ward. Please listen when I tell you she is so professional, patient, and a darn good provider. She is consistent everyday I go visit my mom. She does everything with a smile and friendly as all get out. She knows her mission and her job well. She truly needs to be the trainer for all CNA’s. She doesn't have a negative attitude and never hesitates to clean or change my mom’s diaper. I don't worry at all when she on duty. She has found her calling and makes Sonterra Place in Stone Oak and awesome place…

I pray God continues to bless you as you treat your patients how you want to be treated. You don't pass work off. You just do it🌺

This was my first time to make a visit to Sonterra Health Center. I was not surprised with how things were there, but I was very pleased to know what people I know have said about it is absolutely true. Things like : "It's the best nursing facility in the area-maybe even the city!" & "The staff genuinely cares about the residents." It was clean and pleasantly decorated. They even had several large rocking chairs in use by residents on the front porch this morning. All staff were friendly and welcoming, and every resident I saw seemed happy and well cared for. I've seen places where they don't bother to brush or comb a resident's hair, but none of that was seen this morning. Very nice to experience!

My mom was an inpatient at Sonterra Health Center, and our family couldn’t be more grateful for the care she received. The staff was compassionate, attentive, and treated her with kindness and respect every day. They kept us informed, made sure her needs were met, and truly went above and beyond to make her comfortable during her stay. Thank you to everyone at Sonterra Health Center for providing such outstanding care. We highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for quality, compassionate healthcare.

This place is absolutely beautiful, And Clean. That is true. But there is no heart at all. It has taken me a long time to write this review. It has been 5 years as of this July since My mother's passed away here.. My 71 yr old mother was put here after brain surgery! At the hospital she was sitting up on the side of the bed, Knew who I was and talked to me. It was during COVID when my mom was moved to this "Skilled Nursing facility" It took like 2 weeks before she got into her own room. Her hair had not been washed since she got there. So since brain surgery! I ended up doing it and having to cut most of her hair off because it was so matted. I went and seen my mother everyday. Asking questions all the time. Just not the right ones! She started not always knowing who I was after about a month. but we talked full conversation with each other. I had multiple meetings and phone calls with the Main doctor. At first because I wasn't understanding why there hadn't been a phone call or anything else to my mothers PCP that she had been with for 15 years. They asked me a few times about her medical history and I told them everything I knew but also gave them the PCP information so they could get her records or whatever from them. They never once called that office. My mom has now started showing signs of Dementia. On record, They had no information about my mom. When They did ask me questions at the beginning it was all about money. And light medical questions. But I offered them all the information about her doctors. No one there once tried to give her any physical therapy, She was never out of that bed. 1 time had a guy come in to do a breathing treatment where I had to tell them that my mother was a smoker because they didn't understand why she was coughing stuff up after she started healing. I was like uh isn't she going to cough all that stuff out of her lungs ? After that I asked every time I had a nurse in the room with us Why isn't she getting physical therapy? Why? I asked multiple nurses at different times but never got a direct response.until one day I asked a nurse and she snapped at me "well your mother was already bed ridin before all this what do you think we can do". I was floored. My Mother was a very active 71 yr old. Still did her own laundry and worked in her garden. I said who told you that ? And she was like her chart tells me everything I need to know. I asked for the chart I was blown off. While trying to talk to the Main Doctor about my different questions he flipped it on me and started talking to me about signing over her SSI. SO MANY THINGS THIS PLACE DID WRONG .I was a broken hearted daughter trying like hell to hold on to her mother all by myself. I wish I would have known the right steps. I hope no one else has to go through any of this. There isn't enough room for me to text out all the different problems I ran into . Bottom line My mom was admitted here In May 2021.Since she made it through so well with brain surgery, The hospital felt she would need some rehabilitation but was confident my mother would come home. April 14th out of nowhere my mother stop digesting food and couldn't even talk. And was not expected to make it through the night. My mother passed away July 15th 2021. They kept her gowns and her blankets. Well the ones that hadn't been already taken from her. They neve even tried to help her. That's the worst part. And to top it off I looked at all the billing statement that came in from Humana and all the hours they had charged for her Rehabilitation. When they never one time got her out of her bed. It's a shame. I truly feel like my mother didn't have to die. Please know how to deal with long term care before putting a loved one here. Make sure you ask all the things I didn't know to ask.

I went to visit an old friend, while I was there, several people came in to check and see how he was doing, which put me at ease. They called him by his name and even made me feel welcomed.

I am long overdue in leaving this review. My father-in-law was a patient at Sonterra after suffering a stroke in February 2026, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the care he received. From the moment he arrived, we were impressed by how clean and well-maintained the facility was. Every staff member we encountered was kind, compassionate, and genuinely engaged with both him and our family. The therapy team worked incredibly hard to help him, and one thing that always stood out to me was that he was consistently clean, well-groomed, and treated with dignity and respect. When it became time to transition him home with hospice care, the staff at Sonterra made the process as smooth and compassionate as possible. During such a difficult time, their support meant more to our family than words can express. Our family extends our deepest gratitude to the entire Sonterra team—the nurses, therapists, caregivers, and administrators—for caring for our father-in-law as though he were one of their own. We will always be thankful for the kindness, compassion, and exceptional care you provided.

Front desk person always pushes button to let us in and out. Always friendly greeting us. Honestly very impressed with entire staff. My sister has been treated with respect by all staff. We came to this facility because a friends had his wife here and they liked it.
