About this community

Sycamore Creek Ranch at Cypresswood in Spring, Texas is a small, family-founded memory care community that focuses on residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s. The site indicates it is purpose-built for memory care and is one of six Houston-area homes operated by the same organization. Each home typically houses up to 16 residents, maintains a higher staff-to-resident ratio than many larger facilities, and staffs on-site caregivers 24/7.

Daily life is described as home‑style rather than institutional, with multiple common areas for socializing, organized activities, and meals prepared on site. The operator emphasizes personalized routines, staff familiarity with residents’ stories, and individualized attention in an intimate setting. Tours are offered by appointment and the community advertises direct, local staff contact rather than a central call center.

Sycamore Creek Ranch has provided loving and safe care for my loved one for years. It is a smaller facility allowing for more individualized care. The staff is caring and supportive.

My mom has been here for several years and I can’t think of any place better for her. The staff is loving and hard working and the facility is top notch. A truly wonderful memory care facility. Patrick and his staff truly love and care for each resident.

My husband has only been there since February. SCR, in my opinion, is the closest thing to being at home. The food seems to be very good home cooked meals. He has very good care. I do have a camera in his room. Caregivers are kind and some even sing (Danny and Rosa) when they’re getting him ready for bed. He enjoys that. There so many thoughtful caregivers working there. Junior works at night and helps my husband get ready for bed. He even sat on the bed and had a sweet conversation with my husband before he went to sleep. Then patted his head and said goodnight. Junior works at night and helps my husband get ready for bed. He even sat on the bed and had a sweet conversation with my husband before he went to sleep. Then patted his head and said goodnight. Such a kind and thoughtful gesture. If something isn’t right, tell them, and they do their best to correct it quickly. The staff tries to get the residents to participate in activities. Some do and some just watch. A director there also has her daughter (teen) to come in and assist with activities. She’s great and very good at getting residents involved. It’s a place where everyone feels like family. Patrick is also a director and always returns calls and texts. I’m very happy Patrick is now at SCR. I pray none of them leave. Pam B.

This place is different in the best sort of way. When your parent has dementia or Alzheimer’s and needs full time care, it is quite a difficult decision. Our family chose Sycamore Creek Ranch after a thorough search. There were a few factors that helped us make our decision. We liked that residents had multiple areas to congregate outside their rooms. We liked the layout and atmosphere, as it felt warm and inviting like a lodge. We also liked the scratch-made, delicious meals they serve, meals the owner has personally tested with his own family. We liked that there were several other men there too. Although there were a few issues at the beginning, ever since Patrick, the facility Director, arrived last summer my father’s care has been excellent. The employees are all regularly trained specifically on dealing with memory care patients. They are attentive and caring. My dad has lived at SCR over a year now, and it warms my heart to know he is well cared for, and I would even go so far as to say he is happy there. Patrick engages the residents with trivia, games, exercises, and other activities. My dad has a friend there and they are like two peas in a pod. They both suffer from Alzheimer’s but are always sitting together, spinning tales, doing puzzles, and engaging with the other residents. This is not just what we prayed for, it is far more. We are thankful for this place, and highly recommend it.

The resident caregiver ratio is great. There are only 15 residents? I think. So the staff were not overloaded with resident care responsibilities. The facility was very clean. The "Lock In Rate" is what I found very helpful the cost stays the same.

The staff are friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping is good, the move in process was easy. I definitely would recommend this facility to other families who are dealing with a family member with cognitive issues.

Sycamore Creek Ranch-Cypresswood was very nice. I would have been very comfortable putting Mom there, and that's not far away. By the time that I was there, just touring it and talking to people, everything seemed nice. The residents seemed very happy. The person who gave me the tour was very informative. Everybody else, when we passed them in the hall, spoke and was friendly. So, the staff seemed fine and everybody seemed to engage with the residents, which I thought was a good sign.

My husband moved into Sycamore Creek Ranch at Cypresswood. The experience has been wonderful. We have a portable ring camera in there. They also have a camera in there. When we are not there and my husband appears to be wandering or confused in his room, they come check on him right away. When I am not there, the camera is not really to check on the employees, like so many people would worry about. I'm not worried about that at Sycamore Creek Ranch. My husband's room is quite spacious. I was surprised at how much familiar furniture I could take to make his room feel like home. The room looks wonderful. The food is excellent. My husband eats every bite. They even come and say, "Do you think that he would like a little more?" There are always vegetables and fruit. The facility is very clean. The staff is excellent. They do group activities once a week. The manager said that they focus on one-on-one. I do see them sitting at the desk, either doing puzzles with somebody or coloring alongside somebody. It's a one-story facility, so it's small. My husband comes out of his bedroom and in the one and only open area. He sees people regardless. He's not looking at a long hallway with no people. His room is nicely painted and feels like home.
