I have to say that the owners and the staff are absolutely amazing. I traveled from Florida to see my uncle and they treated me like I was part of the family. My uncle is very happy there and everyone was very sweet to him. I have been to many ALF and I have to say this place is by far the best place I have ever seen.
I was quite impressed with Tall Pines, but I think it's for folks who can no longer drive. They will take people who live there anywhere they need to go at no additional cost. They have really good ethics, and it would be a better environment for people who really need more care. The owner is an RN, and she's on-site all the time.
Tall Pines is wonderful! My sister got to be a little more than they could handle with her dementia so she's not there anymore. This is a home atmosphere. The people that work there make the residents feel like they're at home, really make them feel comfortable. I would have left her there except she started wandering out and they are on 4 acres and are not fenced in and we just decided it wasn't the best place for her, not that they were asking her to leave or anything. For someone who does not need close watching, it's really very good.
