The staff is very neglectful. My 86yo mom had knee replacement surgery and needed ice on her knee. The facility ran out of ice and she was told to do without. They held her pain medication 2 hours after she was due for it. When I tried to call them to ask that they take her the medication, no one answered until the 3rd time I called. The lady who answered said she didn't work on that wing and only answered bc the phone kept ringing. She said she would get a message to them. And the hallways smell of human feces. DO NOT SWND YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS FACILITY!
We are so grateful for the amazing care my mother receives here. The staff is compassionate, attentive, and treats her like family. She truly enjoys living there and feels comfortable and cared for every day. It gives our family great peace of mind knowing she is in such good hands. Highly recommend this facility for long-term care.
My mother has been in long-term care here, and our family could not be happier with the care and compassion she receives every day. The staff is truly wonderful — kind, attentive, patient, and always willing to help. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing she is safe, comfortable, and treated with dignity and respect.
During my time there, I encountered ongoing and unacceptable communication issues across multiple departments. It was extremely difficult to reach anyone, from the front office all the way to the nursing staff. Calls would ring continuously with no answer, and on the rare occasions when someone did pick up, the conversations felt rushed, dismissive, and gave the clear impression that my concerns were not a priority. These problems extended well beyond leadership. Reaching the MDS Coordinator or the Business Office was consistently challenging, and even attempts to speak with the Administrator were unsuccessful. Whenever I tried to reach a nurse, I was transferred back and forth between the nurses’ stations on both sides of the building with no resolution or follow‑through. These repeated breakdowns in communication created unnecessary delays, disrupted routine business, and made it nearly impossible to obtain even basic information. The lack of accessibility, accountability, and responsiveness across multiple departments reflects a systemic issue that requires immediate attention from corporate leadership
Have a problem with Francis my roommate she told the nurse that she can't my urine in the toilet and that I need my own room
Placed my mother there for rehab in Dec 2024. Staffed seemed nice and caring facility was clean and presentable. As mother need long term care services because she had become bedridden and we were unable to tend to her due to working we thought we would return her back there since it was close to our homes and we could check on her daily. During this time we had to get approach staff for not leaving her meal trays, they are very hesitant on making sure patients are cleaned and changed, in which we had to do on numerous occasions despite the fact we were paying $5300 a Month for them to do so. We had to demand they leave her a tray at breakfast lunch and dinner even if she declined because she suffers with diabetes and dementia. She is experienced being barricaded in a room by another patient, which was not their fault but also not wise to have a mentally unstable person in the room with a person who can not walk. I have witnessed CNAs tease and harass other elderly patients. I have gotten one up of the floor as she layed there screaming for help and staff was just outside the door. The call light is just a light because 80 percent of the time no one responds. There were some caring CNAs others rude or stood outside her door laughing and teasing her. She passed away at the facility in Aug and I am still waiting on a refund for her private pay. If you have loved ones you really care about just triple check the facility and go there as much as you can to make sure they are ok because, I’m going to assume, being under paid and under staffed they just don’t care!!!
The current Administration and staff at The Atrium are amazing! The building is clean and smells good when you walk in. The Administrator Illa, and all administrative staff, including the MDS nurses, all operate with a spirit of excellence and really focus on providing safe, quality care to all residents. The nursing staff always know what is going on with their residents and are excellent communicators, especially Karmen, Darlene and Megan!
I am the Maintenance Director at this facility. I take personal responsibility for this facility. I would recommend this home to any family. I have worked for several facilities around Waco and Temple, and this is by far my favorite!!! There is no place like home! But that being said, we do try our best! We have an awesome Administrator, a brand new nursing team that is doing an exceptional job, a great Therapy department, a dietary department that just today received lots of accolades, and a great housekeeping team to top it off! The office staff is very friendly and helpful! COME VISIT US!!! There are a lot of places to be in the Waco area, but this is one of the best!!! Well, you know there is Texas Road House!!! Lol! Chip & Joanna ain’t got nothin’ on this!!! 🤣
