Yuck! It reeks of feces and urine! Some of these comments appear phony, definitely suspicious. Go check this place out prior to placement. Walk through there; you'll see. Save your loved one the trouble. Staff isn't very attentive or sanitary. They dropped wrappers on the floor without picking it up, walked past misplaced trash and seemingly ignored it, and walked in and out of room without changing gloves. We started the transfer process to another facility the day my family member arrived. I couldn't rest until my loved one was out of there.
We had a wonderful experience at The Colonnades. The staff is incredibly caring and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure residents' comfort and well-being. What truly stood out to me was the exceptional leadership team. They are approachable, professional, and genuinely dedicated to creating a positive environment. Communication is clear and consistent, which made me feel confident that my loved one was in good hands. I highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking quality care and compassionate leadership.
I have experienced much compassion and genuine care from the staff and residents at the Colonnades. As with many facilities of this nature....some things are not perfect, however the cleanliness, compassion, and high regard for the comfort and care of the residents is more valuable than words can express! The knowledge and innovation this company invests in its business make this facility a growing part of a modern technological advanced Healthcare system.
Aasiyah is a very nice employee, she loves to help residents here as well as the med aid Lynn and dietary Angela. Frances is always very helpful.
“The Colonnades is a wonderful facility with caring and hardworking staff. The team truly works together to provide compassionate care for the residents. The environment is clean, organized, and welcoming, and management is supportive and attentive to both residents and employees. Residents are treated with respect and dignity, and the nursing staff always tries their best to meet everyone’s needs. It is a great place for rehabilitation and long-term care, and you can see the dedication of the staff every day.”
The colonnades at reflection bay has a great admission process! CeCe works extremely hard to make sure the patients have a smooth transition from the hospital to rehab. Dr. Rajan is a very good medical director who is very involved with the care of her patients.
I will NEVER recommend this facility to anyone short term or long term. The staff is horrible at taking care of patients. My elderly mom was there for 3weeks after her surgery she called home daily with issues with the staff either they were not changing her soiled diapers, they would leave her sitting in a wheelchair all day. Mother would press the nurses button for assistance and they would never respond and I witnessed for myself the day she was being discharged, after 30 minutes of waiting for them to respond I had to walk to the nurses station to get help. Leaving her in soiled diapers all day created another problem a rash. The doctor was clear that she was not to put any wait on her leg but the staff was so lazy and didn’t want to Change her diapers anymore so they started having her use the toilet which caused her ankle to shift needing to do the surgery all over again. You guys need to replace the staff with more caring staff not people who want to do 8-11 hours of work and go home. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVE ONE TO THIS PLACE.
I had a very upsetting experience at this facility. The environment was extremely unpleasant—it frequently smelled like urine and feces, which made it uncomfortable just to be there. On more than one occasion, I was left sitting in a dirty diaper for hours, which is completely unacceptable and neglectful. Basic hygiene and patient dignity were clearly not a priority. Another major concern was the complete lack of hand sanitizer. There was none available in patient rooms or common areas. Staff explained there had been a recall on their usual brand, but instead of replacing it, they simply went without for months. This raised serious concerns about infection control and safety. The cleanliness issues went even further—roaches were seen in the bathroom. At one point, a wound care doctor saw a roach crawling on the door, grabbed a brochure from my table, and used it to kill it. It was disturbing and disgusting knowing that as I slept, roaches were in the room with me. Additionally, the food was consistently cold by the time it reached patients. It seemed the staff did not prioritize delivering meals promptly. Instead, they could often be seen and heard at the other end of the hallway talking, laughing, and socializing. Some employees were even overheard complaining about their jobs and criticizing their coworkers, which created an unprofessional atmosphere. That said, I would like to express appreciation to the physical therapy and occupational therapy staff. They encouraged me to stay active as much as possible, explaining the importance of movement in recovery, and were genuinely supportive. They were fun to be around, which helped take my mind off many of the other negative aspects of my experience. Overall, the level of care, cleanliness, and professionalism at this facility was deeply disappointing. I would not recommend it to others.
