PLEASE READ WHEN CONSIDERING THE GROVE FOR YOURSELF OR LOVED ONE. I am not just a family members loved one but also in the medical field. If I could give the grove a negative score for my mother's care, I would. If you or your loved one require assistance with mobility (especially getting in and out of bed), assistance in showering, assistance with medications I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. 12 days after moving into this facility my mom, who was healthy and only needed assistance with getting out of bed, was admitted to the hospital for failure to thrive, a urinary tract infection (not shocking due to the amount of times we found her sitting in her own urine) and delirium from not taking her medications correctly. My family checked on my mom almost every single day and it was very common to find her sitting in her own urine each morning. We had a meeting with Shri shortly after my mom was admitted and expressed we felt she needed a higher care level since THE GROVE had originally chose level one FOR HER (by someone who isn't even medically trained and before even evaluating her) but we were told that higher level of care wouldn't be possible until a 30 day period of observation. My mom didn't even make it 30 days in this facility, she made it 12 days before her doctor at a routine appointment made her go to the emergency department where she was admitted for failure to thrive, a urinary tract infection and delirium (something I wanted the grove to help us out with but was met with resistance about waiting 30 days) I almost lost my mom because of those 12 days. Before she came to the grove she was getting out of bed on her own, dressing herself, showering herself and just 12 days later we have lost any progress she made in skilled nursing. I have regret that I allowed my mother to "live" in this place and fully believe they have significantly worsened her cancer treatment course and accelerated her physical and mental decline because of how weak she is now and the delirium we are still dealing with. And of course there was no negotiating any return on the $6000 we spent for them to watch our mom fall into failure to thrive, bacterial infections and delirium while she was there. It's almost as if they refused to let us pay more for a "higher level of care" so that this would happen, she would leave and they could keep the money without doing any of the work. Also of note, her room didn't even a working fan in the second bedroom and they let her toilet sit with feces for 2 days before getting it fixed. They'll make you promises to get into this facility but once you are in they dont seem to hold up their end of the contact. If you or your loved one really requires care and attention, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE.
Lisa has been just awesome to work with…from the very beginning when extended patience was needed to navigate our transition….to the moment we could finally make the decision and needed to move quickly…and now as a resident with some challenging circumstances, Lisa is still right there with us sharing her authentic and compassionate support.
We are so grateful to have found The Grove for my 96yr old mother. Lisa and her staff exhibit such professionalism.Their caring for the residents is amazing and comforting to us and has given us peace of mind. The Grove is not a business (as we experienced in the previous facility) but a caring home for senior residents. So highly recommend The Grove.
I’ve seen a real positive shift in my Mom’s daily life since joining The Grove. The staff are consistently warm, patient, and attentive, taking the time to get to know each resident and tailor care to individual needs. There’s a true sense of community—friendly neighbors, engaging activities, and nutritious, well-prepared meals that brighten every day. The living spaces are comfortable and clean, with thoughtful safety features that provide peace of mind to families. Most importantly, my mom feels respected, independent, and genuinely cared for, which brings our whole family relief and happiness. I’d highly recommend The Grove to anyone seeking compassionate support, dignity, and a vibrant, safe place to thrive.
I'm becoming a regular visitor and getting to know Dee, Lisa, and William G. And Emily who likes dad jokes (you know me now). All are to be commended. They are true friends, they know how to get things done and I appreciate them. They are definitely on my Christmas list!!!
The Grove at Forest Lane provides excellent resident care! The staff is kind, attentive, and truly cares about each resident’s well-being. The community is clean, welcoming, and well-run, with activities that keep residents engaged. I highly recommend it for families looking for a supportive and compassionate environment in Dallas. Sincerely, Marcy Couturier
This is such a sweet, bright, and clean community, and I felt at home from the moment I first visited. The concierge is welcoming and the staff is always friendly. I love that the executive director is accessible, friendly, and helpful. Please consider this community for your loved one if y’all want to feel at home.
