Resident & family reviews

Poor in all aspects. Feeding tube not flushed for 70 days. Changed the bandage to mask their lack of care. Left soiled on many occasions. No ccmmunication between patients and stsff. No leadoshipoleadership on all levels incuding mgmt. The main concern floor staff was turning the call light off while not resolving the issue or request. Lack of respect and care. Loud talking and laughing at nurses station. Great staff names: Abraham Ashanti Nanda Elizabeth Evans Quita McClean Angela Jane Poor Performers: Too many to list.

My mom (Jade) has had to be here twice for rehab. She loves the facility & staff. So thank you too all at the Madison!

The care and treatment at The Madison on Marsh are unacceptable. The facility fails to provide the necessary attention and medical oversight required for its residents. We have reached a point where involving an outside advocacy group was necessary just to ensure basic standards of care and resident rights were being met. If you are looking for a facility that prioritizes the health, safety, and dignity of your loved ones, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. The current management of treatment here is negligent and deeply concerning.

The staff, all phenomenal Black women were truly remarkable and made my Aunts last days unforgettable. My Aunt Violet Baker couldn't stop talking about their amazing service and kindness. It's inspiring to see such talent and dedication in action.

I have a loved one at this facility and we’re very involved with her care. This facility does a great job with caring for the patients, planning activities and their overall well-being. The food is great and often times they will include a snack in the evening. The kitchen does a great job getting all of the meals out in a timely manner, and the quality and quantity of the food is great. I would recommend this establishment if you’re needing care for a loved one

I attended for physical therapy following a hospital stay. The long term and senior care experiences may be different from this. For physical therapy and health care, they are minimally staffed. Their goal seems to be to run out your insurance days at minimal expense. My insurance would cover 14 days; suspiciously, they said people in my situation typically stay 14 days. Many staff are in a rush. I had nothing to do but spend 23 hours a day in my room. Most walking for exercise I just did on my own. I get more activity at home. No phone or two way communicator to staff from room. Not clear if they even have a nurse. No diagnostics if you get sick there - throw up once and they send you back to the hospital. Therapist is only available at erratic hours; he showed up for a 7:30 am session at 10 am. Hallway is loud with kids and olds talking loudly on their phones. Little effort to get me comfortable. Did not even offer me an extra pillow or blanket. In room TVs are like an iPad on a swivel. The Positives are acceptable food, vending machines. At least it is better than Carrara. Cigna insurance covered. Checked out of here and will talk to Cigna about using in-home visits.

I am leaving this review to express serious concerns regarding the care my father received while he was a patient at this rehabilitation facility. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely distressing due to what I believe was negligence and a lack of appropriate medical attention from one of his assigned caregivers. When I contacted the front desk to identify this caregiver, I was told his name was “Chocolate.” He is a middle-aged, bald male staff member with an African accent who was assigned to the end of the hallway where my father’s room was located. My father was admitted for rehabilitation in stable condition. Within one day, his condition declined significantly. He began experiencing extreme pain, waking up crying and visibly distressed. Over the next several days, this pain continued without improvement. I repeatedly reported his symptoms to his caregiver, including severe pain and later significant swelling in his knee. Despite these concerns, I was repeatedly told that his condition was “normal,” and minimal intervention was provided. To my knowledge, no physician was contacted, and no additional evaluation was requested. Over the following days, my father’s knee became severely swollen, several times larger than the other, and eventually turned purple. He continued to be in obvious agony. These changes were reported multiple times and were consistently dismissed without further assessment. As a family member without medical training, I relied on the staff’s judgment and reassurance. On the final day of his stay, my father became unresponsive. Despite this, his caregiver attempted to administer oral medication while my father was unconscious. After my father was transferred to the hospital, medical staff found the medication lodged between his teeth and lip, indicating it had not been safely administered. Later that day, when I personally requested that the caregiver check my father’s vital signs due to my concern for his condition, the request was refused. My family repeatedly asked for help and intervention throughout this process and felt ignored and dismissed. Shortly after leaving this facility, my father’s condition deteriorated further, and he required hospitalization and placement on a ventilator. This experience was deeply upsetting and has left our family with serious concerns about patient safety, attentiveness, and accountability at this facility. I strongly urge management to thoroughly investigate this incident and review staff conduct, as patients in rehabilitation settings depend entirely on caregivers to recognize changes in condition and respond appropriately. No family should have to witness a loved one suffer while their concerns go unaddressed.

Great Facility , I’m very impressed with the team here!
