If you care at all about your family member DO NOT bring them to this place!!!! My father has dementia he was in the memory care unit, the facility allowed a notary to come in and have my father to sign a new POA and check himself out! He has been exploited every since!
We loved The Reserve at Pearland, but it was private pay, and there was no way we could cover that. Chloe was the sales director who toured us, and she is very likable. She has a great personality. The facility is beautiful and clean. The rooms are private little homes, like apartments, so they have little kitchen areas and everything. It's extremely nice, but it's all private pay. Chloe worked very hard to try to make us a good deal, but we couldn't cover it. It was very expensive. I would love to put my mother in that facility. They have a beautiful garden area with big magnolia trees.
The staff really went the extra mile to get us the best deal and helped us with the move making my mom comfortable while the movers were unloading her furnishings. She had lunch and they treated her to a movie and popcorn. [name removed] the activities director was so welcoming as was actually all the staff. They already knew her name and made time to introduce themselves and tell her they were glad she moved in.
It has only been a couple of months at the reserve but so far everyone has been so kind and helpful, my brother seems to love the place so if he's happy I'm happy, and hopefully it becomes home for him.
We toured The Reserve at Pearland. The facility was amazing. When I walked in there, the facility was clean. The residents were clean, too. They were friendly. The staff was amazing. She explained everything to me. At some point I think my dad may end up there, it is just not now. I think it's really a great place. I spoke with the director as well. I went into the kitchen, and just based on observation, everything was extremely clean. The food looked great. There were quite a few amenities, and just based on what my father's needs are, they had everything there. It's also really accessible. It's like five minutes from me, and ten minutes from my brother. Great facility. Great staff.
There is high turnover in management. The dining experience left something to be desired. Changing in chefs left the food to be undesirable. Maintenance is nonexistent housekeeping is nonexistent, laundry service is terrible. The only activity that people participate in is bingo. It’s a new building, but only half of it is full of residence. Basically it’s half empty.
The Reserve at Pearland has an awesome nurse. The facility looked lovely. The people there were very friendly and welcoming. They have lots of things to do. It was a beautiful place, but their staff was what really stood out for me. They were so friendly. They've reached out to me and they've offered to do things. They were wonderful. Crystal was the name of the nurse and she was fabulous. Chloe was the one taking us around and she was really good, too. They've got good-sized rooms. The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. Everybody was very nice. If they saw us, they introduced themselves, so I couldn't ask for better.
Overall did not meet the expectations set by the administration. Did not take good care of my dad. Had to go in person to find out why they would not assist him back to bed for hours after he asked, why they would not allow him to have snacks if he didn't eat all of food at meals. Eventually he started refusing to get out of bed because no one would help him when he wanted to go back and he ended up getting a pressure sore from laying in bed so much. It was a bad fit and he is doing much better where he is now.
