Worst experience ever. Owner Jill refuses to pay what you already worked for.
My sister and I had a bad experience with Wedgewood. The staff are not trained very well. They do things to make the "work" easier for them. We were evicted because they didn't like the hospice that we liked. I would not recommend Wedgewood to anyone.
Easy...5 all the way down! You guys were so helpful! You made the selection so much easier! I've been recommending you to my friends. I'll also be contacting you again when we'll unfortunately need to find a place that accepts medicaid! Wedgewood has great/friendly/helpful people who answer our questions and let us know if she needs anything.
My father has lived at Wedgewood for almost 2 years. It started out nice to win you over, but it has gone downhill fast. They can't keep staff, and the ones they do have must have been found off the street with no training on how to care for the elderly and their needs. My father has sat in his own waste waiting for someone to assist him. Food has gone downhill. Don't even ask about medicine... Do NOT take your loved one there!!!
My sister was in this place for 2 weeks and it is the worst place ever. It is a very pretty place if that is what you are looking for but if you are looking to have your loved one cared for this is not the place. They have no nurses and only medication aides to care for your family and may I add they were the worst aids I have ever seen. You push your bell for help and no help comes the aids hide out in the kitchen or gather around the front desk and sit. Aids were seen going through my sister's belongings while she was asleep The food was atrocious. I can't warn you enough about putting your family here. A complaint will be filed with whomever is in control of this place.
There is a huge disconnect between the directors and the caregivers. The caregivers are not trained, do not practice simple hand washing, zero compassion, and at times have refused to answer their pagers. This place is referred to as “Wedgehood”, wish I would have known that before moving my loved one in.
My grandmother was there 3 months never any help to the bathroom she fell 3 times the 3rd fall in the bathroom broke her hip and she died after surgery two days later , I stopped by often ( daily ) one Sunday after church I stopped at WS and her next door neighbor lady was in the floor next to her chair and I called for assistance for her I had to go look for help No one was inside all outside smoking, sad place I wouldn’t recommend.
Based on our experience so far we would recommend the Wedgewood South community to other families.
