As a resident for a month, I can give my opinion of Willowbrook. The building itself is nice. The rooms are nice and spacious with room for visitors to come sit down as it’s nicely furnished. The aids are just OK. I’m at their mercy to come and help me.
My grandmother has done rehab at Willowbrook several times throughout the years, and we have always had great experiences! The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
The facility is shabby. Unmatched furniture, floors need repairs. No roaches seen. Food is good. The staff is excellent. They always have a smile and are very helpful. I will be here for a couple more weeks. I will update this review then.
My husband was at this nursing home for 24 hours, I was shocked at how unclean the place is, the floor in his room was sticky the entire time he was there. My husband was not taken care of properly at this facility so I brought him back home. I could not recommend this place to anyone. I am sorry that he endured this place for 24 hours.
Willowbrook is by far the best in Nacogdoches!
I stayed at Willowbrook Nursing Center for a couple of weeks. They were good. They had good nurses and good assistants to the nurses. All of the therapy people were so nice and talked to me and joked around with me. And so it just made it a lot easier to have somebody that was talking to you and trying to find out what was going on. I hurt my back, so they were putting the heat packs on there. And it was very good. I liked it. I had thought about going and staying there, but then I remembered I felt more at home at the other facility.
My aunt was in Willowbrook Nursing Center for rehabilitation. I also had my mother there three years prior and it was wonderful, but it had gone down so bad by the time my aunt was there that I would give it a two-star. The building needed a lot of work. It was dirty. There were cockroaches everywhere. My aunt was in there for an infected foot and it was worse when she left than when she got there. Because she was in rehabilitation, they did not include her in any of the activities. I don't know if they were still going by COVID rules at the time, but anybody in rehabilitation couldn't go any further down the hall, so they weren't included in any of the activities or anything. The food was terrible. It was always like a cold cheese sandwich or something. Even for her Christmas dinner, she had a cold hotdog with nothing on it. It was just a cold bun and a wiener on a plate with a bag of chips. It just was not good. It was not worth the money for her to not get the care that she needed.
I have a family member in Willowbrook for physical therapy after knee replacement surgery. The facility is nice and clean and employees are very nice. My problem with this facility is the quality of the food that is served. Kitchen has been told all she needs to eat is protein no starches, just meat and vegetables. They keep serving her pasta, potatoes, breads, stuff she's not supposed to eat. The meat is hard as a rock and drier than the Sahara desert. One time she got just 2 pieces of bread and some chips, that's not a meal!! Do better people!!
