My family and I are truly grateful we found Affectionate Care. Our loved one with memory issues recently transitioned from home to Affectionate Care. She has been welcomed and nurtured by the kind and skilled staff. Our loved one’s room is spacious with high ceilings and large windows. The facility is clean and new. There is plenty of space for her to walk and explore in a secure, and safe area. Further, the small, private facility supports about 20+ residents, which provides for a great deal of personal attention. Our loved one particularly enjoys the daily activities and the time spent sitting on the lovely patio outdoors with her friends. Affectionate Care is a great choice for anyone seeking a small, private facility where residents are treated like family.

I recently visited my friend’s dad who is a resident of Affectionate Care, as I will have to find a place for my parents in the near future. Right from the start, it felt personal and warm—nothing like a large, impersonal facility. With such a small community, the staff seem to genuinely know each resident, and there was a really good staff-to-resident ratio, which I could see making a real difference in daily care and attention. A couple of things also stood out. The first was their memory care program. They have CALM-certified staff who had evidently taken the time to understand the needs of each of the residents. The other was their dedicated pharmacy services— something I had not seen in other facilities in the area. Having medications managed in-house took a huge burden off my friend, giving the confidence that their dad’s medications would be taken care of. I also had the opportunity to meet the owners. They were both very passionate about offering the highest quality of care and have built something special at Affectionate Care. They both have aging parents and they said it was very important that all their residents were treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, and the families feel supported every step of the way. I left feeling very confident that this would be a great place for my parents.

We moved my mom here at the beginning of February. We were so pleasantly surprised by how clean the facility was, how spacious and airy the rooms were, and how kind the staff was to the residents. My mom had stayed in multiple skilled nursing facilities and two different assisted livings over the years and they were all terrible in a variety of ways. When Nicole White, from Care Patrol, recommended this facility and talked about how much care each resident receives, I really did not believe it could be true, because we had heard that many times before, but it was never followed through on. I was so unexpectedly surprised to find that she was right! This is a small memory care assisted living, that has the staff to give each resident individualized care. Teaya, the director, treats everyone like they're her own family. She is easy to communicate with and quick to respond to texts or emails. The day we moved my mom in, the head chef came to visit her and wanted to know what kind of food she preferred, even making her a burger upon request. When I mentioned that she was going to need her food cut up for her, he made her a second one and cut it up into bite sized pieces. They go out of their way to get their residents out of their rooms, but in an encouraging way. They have geri chairs for those who are bedridden, but still want social interaction. I even saw them take the residents out to their courtyard to enjoy the beautiful weather. It was such a joy to my mom to be able to get out of her room for the first time in 2 years! Their pricing is all inclusive, so you don't need to worry about increased costs when your loved one begins to require a higher level of care. My mom unfortunately passed away after only a month here, but they made her finals days as comfortable as possible, even beginning to feed her when she became unable to eat herself. My brothers and I were there for much of the day for 2 weeks before she passed and the staff was impeccably kind and polite to us and the other residents. The aides always came in with a smile and kindly greeted my mom, checking to see if she needed to be changed every 1-2 hours and when she did they were respectful about it. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone with a loved one with memory care needs.
