Avalon Memory Care

I went today to schedule a tour for my grandmother. My fiance went and parked his car and waited for me to arrive. A male who was conducting maintenance outside came up to his truck rudely knocked on his window and told him to lower his window. He then stated that he was not allowed to park there even though my fiance explained that he was about to enter the facility to to discuss the program and he proceeded to yell saying that he was the facility and that location belonged to him and that my fiance still could not park there. They yelled back and forth and the approach was so disrespectful and unprofessional ! I cannot believe the audacity this man had ! I will not be enrolling my family in this facility if the staff is going to be this disrespectful! I can only imagine the way they would treat her based on the way they treated my fiance ! ABSOLUTELY NOT !

I was pleased with the facility/ staff at Avalon. The staff are very caring and try their best to accommodate the patients and family members. The only draw back is the food. Food seems to be made for teenagers and it is not diverse enough or appropriate for the elderly.

Have had a great experience in placing my loved one. They were very helpful every step of the way and they helped me work through some difficult struggles. Highly recommend these caring people to make this very difficult process as easy as possible.

They take great care of the residents. So long as the resident is able they take them out to the living area to watch or sleep to the tv and to the dining room for meals. They spoon feed them if need be and talk to them. I also can't say enough good things about Hospice which was recommended to me when I first interviewed at Avalon.

What can I say? A lot! Avalon Memory care is where you should place your loved one. The staff are professional and full of grace. We placed our mother there in less than a week. Very quick and expertly designed to help you make a transition in crisis. It is beautiful, warm, caring and interactive. The house heads of staff are personal and made us feel welcome and supportive of the decision to place our mother with them. I believe I heard my mother laugh for the first time in years after only 4 days at Avalon. She is being cared for in a way that understands Alzheimer’s and gives her the quality of life she deserves. I highly recommend Avalon Memory Care, it’s a gift to our family!
