We toured Brookdale First Colony. It's decent. It's quiet. It's not upscale and not the best of the art, but if you compare it to what you get or what you pay, it's adequate. It's appropriate. The rooms are fine, very roomy, bright, and neatly, cleanly kept. Logan is the person who gave us the tour, pretty courteous. We check all the rooms right there. Somebody in the library is doing the puzzles, and somebody in the activity room is playing cards.
The facility is quite peaceful a beautiful property and I feel comfortable that my Mom is safe. The experience that we have encountered with [name removed] and the manager of the property is simply amazing.. They were so welcoming very understanding. they have really taken care of my Mother to ensure that she is comfortable in her new home..

The sales staff, front desk, cafeteria, maintenance, and even the health staff were all just top level. I sure wish Mom was still there! And by the way, you guys have been great as well.
The facility was nice enough. The rooms are large enough, we did have a problem with German roaches. The food was good and the café was a plus. Mom was constantly getting lost because there was no difference in floors or bldg. Not to mention one of the elevators was constantly broken so it made things more difficult. House keeping was good. At home health was not a good experience. They were inconsistent with her medication.
Brookdale F/C was #1 on my list when searching for an Independent living community. After 4 1/2 years in the community, Best compliment from me….There’s NO place like Home! ❤️ 🌞 Be sure to give management my name when you sign your lease!! Marilyn Webb
Brookdale First Colony is a wonderful community with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is kind, professional, and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure the residents feel comfortable and well cared for. The community is clean, well-maintained, and has a beautiful, home-like environment. If you’re looking for a place where your loved one will be treated with dignity and compassion, I highly recommend Brookdale First Colony!
My mom Shirley Hammonds is a residence at Brookdale . We are both very impressed with the supportive and kind staff . They are very compassionate and always willing to help. There is always a wide variety of activities / parties going on that promote interaction with residents and all very friendly promoting a positive vibe . I would definitely recommend this facility
