I recently had to find a Senior Home for my roommate. I looked at 5 different facilities and Brookdale Watauga Senior Living ended up as my choice for him. Knowing that he wasn’t going to live at home anymore, I was really looking for a place that would have a more “homey” feel to it so he would be able to transition a little easier going there. The employees were all very pleasant and courteous and made you feel Welcome. Even though they were all busy with their jobs they took the time to make sure that you were taken care of and had everything that you needed. They all gave you the feeling that they liked their jobs and enjoyed being around the other residents. Their menus were posted and looked very appetising and the activities seem to appeal to most of the residents. The dining room was very open and full of people carrying on conversations with smiles on their faces. Several of them actually waved and greeted you to make you feel welcome. Lena, Maryanne and Elisha went out of their way to explain how things worked at Watauga and offered to help you with whatever was needed, anywhere from helping you move in to helping you in and out of your car to go to appointments. If you are looking for a place that makes you comfortable and full of smiles and New Friends, it’s definitely worth checking out Brookdale Watauga Senior Living.

They let the staff steal from my grandmother and did nothing about it. First they stole cash out of her purse then they stole a watch my grandfather gave her. Which he has past away. The place is trash!

The staff are great, the facility is a little older but nice. Primary care, podiatrist and other medical testing comes to the resident on-site. Based on my parent’s needs and my interactions, I would recommend.

Brookdale is a wonderful place. The staff is very caring, friendly, and amazing. They take their time in caring for the residents and their families, answering any questions or concerns. While visiting with my mother and getting to know the other residents, I asked if they have any concerns about their safety or any issues? They only had good things to say, and that many of them have lived there for a while and was very happy there. I feel very safe leaving my mom there.

The good.. Lena, Maryanne, and Virginia are awesome! The bad....everything else! Just recently moved my mom out after 1 & half yrs. Brookedale is old, dirty, and feels like an old nursing home from the 1980's. Housekeeping was terrible. Practically nonexistent. Laundry was awful. Clothes came back wrinkled and unwearable. The food, for the most part was bland and not good. Dead bugs in mom's room. Spiderwebs in the hallways. Some residents complained that items went missing from their rooms. Medications not given at proper times. The list is unending. Mom is now at a new facility that is less expensive, but is the Ritz Carlton compared to Brookdale!! I would never recommend Brookdale Watauga to anyone!

The staff here is the best, they are always nice and willing to assist in anyway possible, the facility s clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends for their loved ones or to work here

Karen Cone and Lena are amazing. They have a heart like no other for the parents they admit into their facilities. They make sure that when patients are admitted that they have all their needs met. The nursing staff at Brookdale Wautaga love their patients and are able to really get to know their patients and the families of the residents.

The room is not always cleaned regularly and when it comes to the meals the food is not too good sometimes. The extra care added charges are pretty expensive. However, I would recommend this community to other families based on my experience so far.
