My parents have been residents at Buckner Assisted Living since Aug. 2025. I don’t know that the transition from home to an assisted living community can ever be easy, but the staff at Buckner helped in every way we needed. We searched and visited every possibility in the Longview area for my parents and knew the community at Buckner was a perfect fit. It is like being surrounded by family at Buckner. If you are wanting assurance that your loved ones are safe, happy, and well taken care of… visit Buckner! Tell them Misty sent you.😊
If you have been rejected by Buckner and told that you need to place your loved one in a nursing home instead of enrolling them for rehab at the Buckner Longview facility, don’t accept that judgement without contacting every other place in Longview to see if they are willing to invest in your loved one’s recovery journey. Am so glad we did not believe the nurse’s negative view who was in charge of patient acceptance in the end of 2024. Hopefully that person no longer works with the organization. Buckner was my first choice for a loved one who had been in hospital rehab for a month after a severe stroke. (The patient has excellent insurance and traditional Medicare, so think money wasn’t the issue on acceptance). The facility is lovely and people seem to enjoy working there. They delayed their response if the patient was accepted until the day before his hospital discharge, which put me in a bind trying to find somewhere to put him. And then the marketing person sent me a text finally, saying they felt it was better for him to go to a nursing home. Anyone who sees him now, a year and a half after the stroke, is amazed that he was seen as nursing home material. His drive to get better has never wavered, and PT and OT were lifesavers for him. Am sharing this review not to harm Buckner- instead, I wish them well- but to tell others not to give up if their loved one has been turned down yet has the will to get better.
I have felt safe and cared for all the time I've been here and how well my husband was cared for in the Memory Care.
The food in the assisted living isn't that good per my Dad's opinion, but otherwise, he and my mom are pleased with everything overall.
Everything is included in their fee per month. There are no "levels of care" like other facilities in the area. Staff is accommodating and caring.
Good 👍🏻 excited awesome perfect wonderful beautiful amazing WOW
I liked Buckner Westminster Place, but it's too expensive for me. It offered everything that I wanted. It accepted pets, it had covered parking for my car and it had all the meals and light housekeeping. I liked the lady during the tour. She was nice. The receptionist was nice too. There was a group of ladies having bible study. The main thing that impressed me was the closet space. The ones I've looked at had more closet space than the rest of them, and they had laminate floors instead of carpeting. With my two dogs, I don't want carpeting.
Excellent
