Resident & family reviews
3.8 · 8 reviewsThis is what my mother said as she toured. She was instantly at home, at ease. She called Discovery Village "home" for 3+ years. She has made many friendships. DV provides a place for residents to LIVE!
My loved one was a resident at Discovery Village at Alliance Town Center and overall things were very good for her at this facility. This facility is a bit pricier than others here locally in the area, but the staff is very friendly and the facility is beautiful. Overall, I would recommend this facility to family and friends.
We picked this community, because it was brand new, felt clean, the people were friendly and it was beautiful. I would say it was really great in the beginning but it's gone a little down hill and has had trouble keeping good staff. The physical therapy and exercise room is excellent and the court yards are pretty but they could improve on the smell of the sewage back ups (which they have a hard time fixing) more frequent bus availability for doctor appointments, and quicker service in dining hall.

We had cameras in my loved ones room, and they would leave her in bed all day or not take her to bathroom. They forget about your loved one in the room. They don't have good training with memory care. They make a bunch of promises, that they don't fix. They would not communicate to the familiy, that my loved one did not receive meds in over two months.
Oh my goodness! I called and [name removed] called me right back!! She was so helpful. All the staff [name removed] the nurse [name removed] concierge are all absolutely amazing. I dropped in and [name removed] gave me a tour on the spot. She was even texting me back late in the evening to help with this big decision. My mom loves it! She says she feel like a queen and has died and gone to heaven! Thanks so much!! So thankful I found this place!
How it was sold to us not all of the information and small details were given which was very frustrating. The communication regarding the finances was not accurate and never really fully disclosed.
We moved my grandmother here three weeks ago, and we’re already in a mad rush to get her out. My grandmother has specific medical needs, which we expressed in advance. The medical care here is subpar and incredibly disorganized. There have been two instances that could have caused my grandmother to go to the hospital, In the short time she has been here. Prior to moving here, my grandmother lived on her own, in another state, so moving her was a devastating blow for her personally. And now, we have to move her again, I am heart broken, and I fear for her mental well being making her move again. But, after two serious medical missteps in just three weeks, we feel we have no choice.
We chose Discovery Village because of the location, it is close to my home and right on my way home from work so it is easy to stop by. She is in a 2 bedroom apartment and it is fairly good size. The food is great, they are chef prepared meals. They have tons of activities here for residents to participate in such as a fitness room, fitness classes, social hours, etc. I would recommend.
