My mom is a resident there. I am giving a one star cause the head chef kitchen lady is a bully and if they opened their eyes they would have happier residents. Her name is Tinndra. I attended a meeting about the food and she never says anything during the meeting. She is to afraid talk so the GM talks but in the dining room you can hear her scream at employees and talk bad about other staff. I asked other residents and everyone can’t stand her but apparently she is scary to the upper management so they won’t do nothing. Other than her the nurses are great. The games and events are fun. I wish I remembered more names but of course you only remember the negative. Which is that horrible lady in the kitchen.

I toured the Southlake facility for my MIL and was impressed by the depth and breadth of the care available on the campus. Having all levels of care including rehab on the same campus is unique and very beneficial. My tour was led by Ken and he was very knowledgeable with the perfect balance of empathy and understanding of the difficult challenge the family is facing. I would recommend this facility if your searching for a location to care for your aging loved ones.

I had a wonderful experience at this facility. Everything was very clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. The view was absolutely beautiful and made the atmosphere feel peaceful and relaxing. What really made everything even more beautiful was Nurse Momma J. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and welcomed. She was kind, attentive, and treated me like family. You can tell she truly loves what she does, and her positive attitude made a big difference in my experience. I had my mom at rehab at another location and she was barely seen by any staff the whole three four days that she was there. After having a urinary infection at this place she was sent to the ER. After getting discharged from the ER. She went to Discovery and I swear the first day there we saw more people at Discovery then we did like the 3-4 days at this other location that I’m not gonna mention. The medical staff at Discovery is very professional. I cannot remember a lot of the names of the nurses or physical therapy staff but we thank them a lot for the awesome work they done. One thing we didn’t like was the tv situation, there was only few channels to pick from but the meals were so awesome!

My mom has been on the rehab floor for a month now & we could not be more pleased. The care she has received has been wonderful! The staff is extremely friendly & more than helpful. "Mama J" (the head nurse on the 4th floor) is - in my mom's words - a MIRACLE WORKER!!!!! The joy she brings is indescribable! We love her, as do all of her patients! My mom is making tremendous strides in her recovery, and that is due to her incredible physical & occupational therapists. Wow! The nurse aides & all the other helpers who come into my mom's room daily are alllllll to be commended for their AMAZING work!!!!! Thank you, Discovery Village!!!

Want to share my recent move-in experience at Discovery Village Southlake. We moved mom to DV last week and so far the entire transition has been wonderful. The DV team has been incredibly caring and attentive to mom and to the family. Everyone from the sales staff, the nursing staff, the dining staff, the maintenance staff and the activity staff have been helpful, supportive and patient. Everyone is easy to reach and incredibly responsive. Hollie even helped me build some furniture for mom’s apartment and helped me manage cable set up with Frontier. And on top of it all, the community of residents on my mom’s floor are so kind and welcoming!

I’ve been in Discovery SNF since April 20th. I was not sure if I was able to feel comfortable and uncertain in this kind of facility in the beginning here. As days go by, I met many staff members, doctors nurses and aids from different departments. Transitioning from rehabilitation hospital to Discovery Village was quite an emotional challenge for me, but from the beginning, I was so welcomed by everyone here. I’ve been enjoying PT, OT, clean environment and all the staffs prompt responses as I need things. I will tell all my friends and family about Discovery Village. This is a wonderful place that is surrounded with a natural beauty and wonderful compassion and service. I will be back again in the future if I need same kind of personal needs. Everyone has been wonderful here, I would like to especially thank to Laurel, Tamara, Barbra, Amy, both doctors and Mr. Okay! I would like to also praise the team of Theraphy. Maria and Judy( great professionals) and others work very hard to help with a such great amount of patience for each patient’s needs. Of course each staff here is so kind and delightful! Also food is very good here. Wonderful experience! Thank you so much and God bless you for all you do.

Mama J (Joy) and Millie are the best nurses! They are very compassionate about their patients, and do awesome work as nurses. They both also take time to out of their busy schedules to help teach student nurses along the way. As a nursing student, I have learned so much from the both of them. The aids are also amazing!- Faith, Ester, JoJo and Barbara! I have learned so much from the all! Thank you for making my clinical experience memorable and thank you for the care you provide to the patients and their families! 💕
