Resident & family reviews

My mother has been a resident for two years. She has seen year over year increases that are in line with the high inflation and cost of living. We paid those increases and moved on. One month after an increase and without any explanation, change in acuity, or care needs, her monthly rent jumped by a much more exorbitant amount with very little notice. We literally had 5 hours from getting the letter and making a decision or be locked into 60 more days. When I reached out to the Community Director (who sold us and was so helpful initially) to see if there were any options given they own 50+…

One month after an increase and without any explanation, change in acuity, or care needs, her monthly rent jumped by a much more exorbitant amount with very little notice. We literally had 5 hours from getting the letter and making a decision or be locked into 60 more days. When I reached out to the Community Director (who sold us and was so helpful initially) to see if there were any options given they own 50+ homes, she didn’t even respond to me. After paying this facility over $90K, this is how we are treated? I’m shocked by this bait and switch and complete lack of compassion for people. We will be moving my mother given their business practices, but not without a lot of stress, anxiety and trouble. Clearly, the residents at SilverLeaf are just dollar signs, and I don’t know how the owner/investor sleeps at night. I also want to note that while the day to day care from the ladies was great, our house manager changed several times without any notice to the family. There were times I tried to reach out to someone and got no response. They are quick to send a letter increasing rates but can’t notify families of important updates to the staff? That tells me something about motivations.

Excellent senior care with tasty food and variety of activities for residencies.

I would not do business with this company. They definitely do not have the best interest of the residents in mind. We placed my mother on Jan 20th after many discussions regarding her Alzheimer's disease. I explained many times that she needed to be kept busy. I even sent them the evaluation from the Neuropsychologist stating she was unable to remember but very intelligent. They did not want to do an assessment before we moved her in. On the 5th day, after she had gotten out the front door 3 times, they told me they were unable to keep someone in her condition. I moved her as soon as I could…

I moved her as soon as I could because I did not want her to stay somewhere that could not keep her safe. She was in the house only 7 days. We were charged for a full month plus the prorated amount through the end of January (although we were required to move on 1/26) and for additional services that their own staff said she didn't need once they finally did an assessment. They are unwilling to show me any security video of the incidents.

My mom moved into Allegro after dealing with declining health and a hospital stay which made it not possible for her to return home. While living at allegro home she was treated with respect and care by her caregivers and staff. She required a high level of care and well attended too Her room was kept clean and in order. I very much appreciated everything done for her. Julia and al were compassionate and ran an organized home. I will be forever grateful to them for taking care of my mom.

This place is like night and day from a well known home I had my mom at previously. For instance, at the previous home my mom was downright hostile towards the workers and bathing her was such a chore, it happened infrequently. Within days of moving to Allegro, the workers did their magic and my mom was being bathed on a regular and frequent basis. Her attitude has done a complete 180. She has been extremely cooperative and kinder to the staff than she has been to anyone in years. I am not overstating this to say that I regularly thank God for the home He has given my mom. She and her family literally could not be happier with Allegro.

My husband has been at Allegro for 1 1/2 years and our family is pleased with the care. The house is immaculate, food is balanced and good, 24 hour care always, safety first always. If you are looking for a homey place, considerate care then Allegro is the place.

I am so grateful to Allegro Assisted Living for the phenomenal care they provided to my 94 year old father. He was wheelchair bound and unable to care for himself. I lived very close to the Allegro house, so dropped in often. My friend also visited nearly every day. At every visit, my dad was clean, comfortable, and very well cared for. I asked him frequently (in private) if he was happy in this house, if he was well cared for. He replied, "Oh yes!" every time. The caregivers are very well trained, and extremely compassionate. I was so impressed with Julia and Al. I had their cell phone numbers, and they each responded immediately if I had a concern about a change in condition. It didn't matter what time it was, Julia showed up at the house to assess and care for my father. I am so thankful for her guidance and the dedication she demonstrated in my dad's final days and hours.

My 94 year old Mom has been in the Remington home for over a year and I would not have her anywhere else! Julia, Al, their staff, and their facility were life savers when it came time for my Mom to enter assisted living. They were polite, friendly, answered every question I had, and professional without a doubt. They truly treat EVERYONE as family. I would give them SIX STARS if I could.
