I was disappointed by the way the administrator interacted with residents, families, and staff. Communication came across as rude and unprofessional, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Residents and their families deserve to be treated with kindness, respect, and compassion, and I hope these concerns are taken seriously and addressed. The only reason for the 2 stars is because my family member loves the food it makes them happy
We have had my 98 year-old mom at Silvertree in Schertz for over a year and have been really satisfied…from Kraig and Donna in Admin, to the regular staff, Dominique, Dee, Maryann, Kay, Yoyo and Anita, to the great chef Jeffrey. I’m sure I forgot others but thank you all for all you are doing for our mom.
This place is awful. I would give it negative stars if I could. My dad was supposed to be getting rehab everyday not once did I ever see them take him they claim he was being taken but came different times through out the day and never saw it and due to my dads mental state he was not able to let us know. He literally sat in his bed all day sleeping and they rarely checked on him mind you they knew he was a fall risk that’s why he was there . One time I walked in and he had fallen over because he wasn’t strong enough to sit himself up and he couldn’t reach the call button to ask for help who…
This place is awful. One time I walked in and he had fallen over because he wasn’t strong enough to sit himself up and he couldn’t reach the call button to ask for help who knows how long he would have been there if we didn’t show up. He fell another night trying to go to the restroom by himself and he cut open his face and when we asked if we should take him to get stitches they said it’s not that bad. We went first then in the morning to check on him and not only didn’t look much worse then they said yes he did need stitches. Oh not to mention he was there for 5 days and they never gave him a bath/shower they kept saying he was going to get one the next day that never happened we would clean him up ourselves using the sink and wipes. We knew he never got one because he would be in the same clothes until we helped clean him up. Do not bring your family members here especially if they can’t tell you what is going on. They would only come and check on the patients when they would see me and my family coming in because they knew how we rolled and we had another patient tell us this. She said they only go into the rooms to ask for help if family members were there if not they never checked on them.
My mother really enjoys activities, such as bingo and entertainment. The majority of the time the food is tasty and satisfying. Physical therapy is done on a regular basis and they work well with the patient. The staff is very supportive and always addresses our issues immediately. There have been times that they’ve been short staffed, but the upper management are the first ones to jump in and help out where needed. Kraig, Donna and JR are always very helpful and pleasant when we come visit. Overall, we are very pleased with Silvertree.
Honestly, if I could leave 1 star, I would. The moment we walked in, the place felt fake and staged. The showroom was spotless but completely empty, no residents interacting, no warmth, no real atmosphere. At other facilities, you see staff socializing with residents and making the place feel welcoming. Here, it felt more like being pressured into buying a house than finding care for a loved one. Not once did they ask about my mom as a person, her age, needs, personality, nothing. It immediately felt more about making a sale than genuine care. The staff all waved and greeted us, but it felt forced and robotic. To make things worse, one employee was publicly scolded by a gentleman working there for wearing the wrong shirt. Completely unprofessional. Correct your employees privately, not in front of visitors. Once we got beyond the front area, the reality was very different. One showroom smelled strongly like cat urine, and we weren’t even shown the restroom because we were told it was dirty. The hallways were filthy, and Diana was literally picking up trash as we walked through. The saddest part was the residents. No one looked happy. The entire place felt depressing. No disrespect but how could people leave their loved ones there. Not one smile. Don’t let the outside appearance fool you into thinking it’s worth the money. Visit other older facilities nearby and compare the environment and care for yourself. And please don’t respond with an automated “call customer service” message. I said what I said.
While my father was in their care the staff was very professional and very attentive to his needs, I highly recommend this location.
Walked in to this place to see if it was a good fit for my mother. The main entrance door set off a horrific screeching alarm as soon as I entered. No one responded. When someone finally came to the door after I walked past the front desk to look for help, the woman said the screeching was because someone came in the door and they didn't use the code. Ma'am, I am "they"--and I don't have a code because I've never been here before. I'm here to see if I want to bring my mother... She shrugs. No welcome or offer of a tour. I promptly left. Between the indifference in her demeanor, the unfriendly reception area, the creepy carpet, and general vibe--I was immediately turned OFF by this place.
SilverTree Nursing Facility has been wonderful for my loved one. The staff is caring, friendly, and always willing to help. The building is clean and welcoming, and there are plenty of activities to keep residents engaged and happy. What I appreciate most is how the staff treats everyone like family. Knowing my loved one is safe and well cared for gives me great peace of mind. I highly recommend SilverTree to anyone looking for a warm and supportive place for their loved one.
