The Blake at Tyler

This place started off nice but now has an unpleasant odor when you enter and throughout the facility. Staff doesn't care about the residents living there, only about draining them dry financially with their deceptive billing practices that don't align with their contracts.

I contacted Kandis Jones, CPA for The Blake, to discuss my mother‘s monthly payments. Ms. Jones listened to my questions & concerns, then kindly let me know that she would look into the issues and call me back as soon as possible. As promised, Ms. Jones looked into the matter and promptly called me back. She was professional in her discourse, competent in her demeanor, and clear when providing me the information I was seeking. And her sense of humor added to the positive experience, making me feel at ease discussing “money”, which is never easy to discuss. I give my experience 5/5 sheerly on HER merits, and would feel quite comfortable contacting her again for any information needed on behalf of my mother. Thank you, Kandis!

My husband Robert Kaster is a resident at the Blake Assisted Living facility and here are his own words about his experience so far: "I am writing this review to let other people know how good this facility is and how happy I am to be here. In September 2025 I passed out while shopping at a grocery store , fell backwards , hit my head and cracked my C6 vertebrae. The root cause was a large diabetic ulcer on my right heel. I started off at the CHRISTUS ICU and CHRISTUS rehab for a few weeks. I then went to the Center at Grande rehab facility from October 2025 through February 2026. At the Center at Grande I regained my strength and was well on my way to being fully recovered. But I still had some further healing to do, so I needed to transfer to an assisted living facility. My wife and I reviewed many of the facilities here in Tyler ,Texas and decided on the Blake. It was the correct choice. The facility is new ,clean and the staff is really wonderful. Not only that but the restaurant serves excellent food three times a day and you can order room service if you don’t feel like going down. Sydney did an excellent job answering all our initial questions and giving us a video tour and she was very supportive of us through the process of moving. She is very professional but also very personable and kind. Sharon is the Director of the facility. Besides being a top professional she is a warm and kind person and always ready to assist with any problem that may arise. I had some of my essentials moved from our house to the apartment. The apartment itself is very nice, clean and full of light. The housekeeping comes once a week to clean and wash the sheets. There are three free laundromat stations for personal laundry or you can just have them come to your room and pick it up once a week. The gym has everything I need to maintain my strength and endurance and it is free. There is also a beauty salon and a massage therapist on the premises. The two drivers are excellent and not only drive you to your doctor appointments or shopping appointments but also do maintenance around the facility. Thank you Hudson and Frank. The restaurant staff is excellent and that includes: Chef D., Maddie, Michael and Chase. The nursing staff is also excellent and I especially want to thank Tiffany and Leslie for my diabetes care. Jeffrey is the head of nursing and he is very professional, knowledgable and very supportive. I would rate the Blake 10 out of 10 for cleanliness, food, care, and an excellent staff. "

I’m so thankful for the staff in memory care. There are several who are so excellent with patient care & have true compassion for the residents. Maddy in particular, is TOP NOTCH. She consistently shows so much patience for my mom, & this is so important to me! Thank you, Maddy!
