After spending the past eight weeks after getting a total knee replacement at The Villages of Lake Highlands, I can honestly say that my experience has been exceptional. I don’t usually write reviews, but the outstanding care and kindness I received from everyone on the staff deserve to be recognized. After spending the past eight weeks after getting a total knee replacement at The Villages of Lake Highlands, I can honestly say that my experience has been exceptional. I don’t usually write reviews, but the outstanding care and kindness I received from everyone on the staff deserve to be recognized. From the day I arrived, every single person treated me with compassion, respect, and genuine concern for my well-being. During my entire stay, I never encountered a single employee with a bad attitude. That alone says a great deal about the culture of this facility. There is a physician and a nurse practitioner who do rounds every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Both of them were never in a rush to listen to my concerns and issues with my recovery- and I had quite a few in the beginning. They even came to the PT area to make sure nobody was left out. That was truly amazing to me! The nursing staff provided excellent care and always made me feel safe and well looked after. Whenever I rang the bell in the painful stages of my recovery, someone showed up in a very timely fashion. Whenever they didn’t, I knew it was because they were busy taking care of someone else, not because they didn’t care. The physical therapy team was encouraging, knowledgeable, and truly invested in helping me recover and regain my strength. The housekeeping staff kept my private room spotless and comfortable, making it feel like a home rather than a medical facility. The kitchen staff went above and beyond to make sure I had meals I enjoyed. They were always accommodating and often prepared something extra when I needed it. It was clear that they genuinely cared about making my stay as pleasant as possible. I was also impressed by the administration and leadership. Whenever I needed something, they did everything they could to make it happen. Whether it was a special request or simply making sure I was comfortable, they always responded with kindness and professionalism. What stands out most about The Villages of Lake Highlands is the people. Every department—from administration and nursing to therapy, housekeeping, dietary services, and everyone working behind the scenes—works together with one goal: providing the best possible care for their residents. Their compassion, patience, and genuine love for the people they serve are evident every single day. Recovering away from home can be difficult, but the staff made me feel cared for, respected, and valued throughout my entire stay. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I am deeply grateful to everyone at Villages of Highland Park for their dedication, kindness, and exceptional care. I would wholeheartedly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place where residents are treated with dignity, compassion, and genuine concern. Thank you all for making such a positive difference during my recovery.
0 STARS IF I COULD GIVE THEM. This place is awful from top to bottom. Outdated interior and outdated staff. These so called nursing assistants should be ashamed of themselves so should the management. A laughable operation with even laughable results. My loved one deserved better therefore we moved them out quick. I think the nurses got their license from a Cracker Jack box, I’d rather have sally sue on the corner give my mom medications then these so called trained nurses.
As a healthcare administrator in the Navy with over 30 years of experience in the medical field, I have a very high standard for clinical coordination and operational excellence. Moving a loved one between skilled nursing facilities is always a complex undertaking, but when you add the logistics of a 300-mile relocation and the critical requirement of dialysis chair coordination, the margin for error is zero. The team at Villages of Lake Highlands rose to the occasion during a particularly demanding season of my life. While I was navigating a major career transition, they provided the steady…
While I was navigating a major career transition, they provided the steady hand I needed to ensure my father’s care remained seamless. Several key staff members deserve individual recognition for their dedication: • Cameron (Administrator): His leadership is evident in the facility’s culture. He went above and beyond by sharing his personal contact information, ensuring I had a direct line of communication during the move. This level of accessibility is rare and deeply appreciated. • Cynthia (Business Office): She was instrumental in navigating the financial complexities of long-term care. She worked diligently to transition my father to a Medicaid bed, which eliminated the burden of private pay costs and provided our family with immense peace of mind. • Yvette: Assisted with the daunting task of coordinating the 300+ mile transfer and the specific dialysis requirements. • Tiffany: Her support throughout the process was invaluable, contributing to the overall sense of teamwork that defines this facility. She engaged every step of the way and ensured that every "i" was dotted and every "t" was crossed for his arrival in Kerrville. I’m forever grateful! If you are looking for a facility in Dallas that understands the nuances of complex medical needs and treats families with genuine empathy, I highly recommend Villages of Lake Highlands. They don't just manage patients; they support families through difficult transitions.
Hello My Google family , as you all know I had a total knee revision on April 20th , and stayed in the hospital until April 25th . My insurance denied access to go to encompass rehabilitation, so I was told that they will approved any Skilled Nursing facility, and we all know from experience that nursing homes has distinct Oder , cold food and limited equipment like Encompass Healthsouth Rehabilitation does , So I was against going to one all because of previous experience and not being able to get the care and rehab that I needed to be successful in my every day activities, On April 26th I ended up arriving at a nursing home called The Villiages of Lake Highlands @ 8615 Lullwater drive Dallas, Tx 75238, GOOGLE FAMILY when I tell you I was AMAZED , when the ambulance brought me in the DECOR very ELEGANT and the SCENERY was breath taking ,you have to see it for yourself , it had the smell of fresh scent and rosemary from the gardens that surrounded some of the rooms with an outdoor access . The facility is a very large campus that provide’s all inclusive with Inpatient & outpatient rehab , skilled nursing , assisted living , and memory care for those with Alzheimer’s & Dementia. The food was great they provide a menu for everyday meal for selection , and if there was something you didn’t want all you had to do was write your request on the menu and they provided it as long as it was in your diet plan . The house keeping was Supered, they made sure you had a clean room daily !! The Nurses who didn’t mind doing a little bit more like Mr. Paully & Ms. Emily ( even with special cups of coffee ) made sure you was taken care of even when you didn’t push the call lights . They had a beauty -shop for those that wanted to get this hair done , they had Ms. Rosie the activity coordinator that always encouraged patients to come and be apart of the different activities daily like bingo , music & relaxation , manicure & massages, board games , puzzler, patio social and much more , then we have the REHABILITATION DEPARTMENT , from the director herself Ms. Melissa , to my favorite techs that I worked with Ms, Emily who provide excellent care to make sure she wheel you back to health , Ms. Grace who alway keep a smile on her face to encourage you , Mr. Micheal who loves to chew gum & keep you laughing , along with Mr. Braxton ( special technique) and the rest of the Physical therapist and Occupational Therapist . I can’t express it enough , IF you need a family oriented facility that really cares about your well-being and promotes health and wellness this is your place The Villages of Lake Highlands .We are taught to Accept the things we can not change , Courage to change the things we can and Wisdom to know the difference …IF for some reason in life I have to get rehab again, this is where my heart belongs .
If you're looking for a place to go for in patient or out patient rehab this would be the place to go. I wished they included the aquarium on the photos on their website. I chose this facility for my husband's rehabilitation after his surgery, I was very happy that I was able to stay with him while he was on rehabilitation. Villages Of Lake Highlands provided me with a bed that was situated next to my husband's. They provide a menu listing where residence, patients and guests could choose what they would like to have for their meals. They have a calendar for every month with different activists for the residence and in patients. They also have a beauty parlor to keep the residence and/or patients looking their best! We had a meeting with the social worker and therapy manager regarding goals and discharge date. If there was a concern I had it would be taken care of right away. I would like to thank Mr. Kamran and his office staff, receptionist, transportation, director and assistant director of nursing, wound care, the physicians, social worker, therapy manager and most especially my husband's nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists for all they have done to ensure his needs and goals were met while under their care. They also gave us a call to see how my husband is adjusting since being discharged and that if we needed anything to give them a call.
Do lots of research before you come here. Under-staffed, means your family will not receive the proper care. The A/C rarely works. The food and kitchen staff are the only positive here.
Great service!
Yolanda Chapa is very responsible and most highly appreciated in her work involvement.
