3.5 · 64 reviewsIf I can give them negative stars I would, if you care for your loved ones DO NOT LEAVE THEM HERE. This place is a mess and so is alot of the people that work here ( some of them were kind and helpful) but for the most part they have no idea what’s going on or how to do their job.
i took a bad fall off a porch down approx. 4-5 steps to a concrete sidewalk on a rainy day some 10 weeks ago wrecking the left side of my body. Multiple fractured ribs on my left side, abrasion on my left forehead, left leg/ hips issue and deep left foot discoloration. 3-4 days of ICU followed by approx. 10 more days in the general hospital wing left me being discharged to AVIR rehabilitation center where I spent another 21 days for recovery. i took a bad fall off a porch down approx. Having never have been to a rehabilitation center before I had lots of questions and concern. Things like would I benefit from this place and what should I expect? Katie (the admissions director) took time to address my hesitations in a professional and concerned manner. It was not that I had no more concerns but that there was someone I could reach out to if I needed to and I took her up on this a couple of times to explain things to me (for example what was physical therapy like and supposed to do for me). Fast forward - I am now out of any institution required for my recovery and looking back I can see how everyone and each place was necessary for me (I still do my physical therapy and occupational therapy from home) at the time. Sometimes when life gets rough out here I think about knocking on the front door of AVIR and asking to be let back in; that is how comfortable I had gotten in there.
I am not very happy My mother has been there 2 days and I’m already having serious issues I’m going to try and see if they can correct the problem on Monday if not I’m going to the news and the Governor and exploit the madness But for now I will give them the benefit of the doubt

Staffing issues causing distress to the residents. Kitchen staff having difficulty following ticket orders. Activities cordinator has Activities on weekends which never happens and lots of favoritism. If avir really cares why haven't any actions taken? Rude CNAs and some doesn't even care for the residents and a lot of retaliation been happening. Home of hope logo should be Home of Despair.
This place is disgusting the people at the front desk were rude they didn’t have a pen at the check in desk when asked if anyone had a pen they were too busy on their phone watching videos the rooms that the residents are in are filthy urine on the floor diapers left on table in the room the attendant in the lock down unit was man handled by one of residents horrible place do not leave your loved one here
Such a traumatic transition for my mother with dementia was eased and made me wish I had not waited so long. The team here, especially Autumn eased so much burden and provided much needed emotional and practical support that it far exceeded my expectations. My mother is adjusting well, and her quality of life is vastly improved. I never knew a nursing care facility could be like this, highly praise and recommend this facility!
The care team at Avir New Braunfels is truly one of the best in New Braunfels. As a Physician group Director, I can truly say that they are dedicated, compassionate, and attentive to every patient's needs. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking care for their loved ones, specially now that its under new ownership. Autumn in Admissions, Lane, Admin and Bruni the DON are amazing and incredibly professional. Thank you, AVIR in New Braunfels, for providing such a wonderful environment and support for our patients. Our post-acute care team appreciates everything you do.
Not happy at all with this establishment I will be looking elsewhere to transfer my mother from this place I won’t go into detail but what they did and how she was treated is unacceptable 😡😡😡 and I choose no stars
