It was incredibly tough and heart-wrenching to come to terms with the reality that my dad could no longer stay in the home that he built with his own two hands. However, given his health and overall situation, we truly feel he is in the right place—and that gives us comfort. It was incredibly tough and heart-wrenching to come to terms with the reality that my dad could no longer stay in the home that he built with his own two hands. However, given his health and overall situation, we truly feel he is in the right place—and that gives us comfort. From the very beginning, working with the Mercy House team has been such a positive experience. The team is not only professional, but also exceptionally kind, patient, and compassionate, especially with my dad. We also deeply appreciate the team’s transparency. They are proactive in communicating with us and have been incredibly supportive. One of the things I love most about my dad being at Mercy House is that whenever I drop in to visit, he isn’t sitting alone in his room; instead, he’s out engaging with other residents and members of the amazing care team! He’s interacting and that’s what we wanted. Thank you to the amazing Mercy House team for everything you do. Your kindness, dedication, and care mean more to me than words can express. You truly are angels! ❤️
My grandmother was a resident at this facility, and the staff was truly amazing. They treated her with dignity and compassion, always responding quickly to any concerns we had and going above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable and well cared for. The only thing I would note is that if you are not specifically looking for memory care, this may not be the best fit, as there aren’t many activities to keep residents occupied. That said, the quality of the staff and the level of care provided are hard to beat
Mercy House Assisted Living has been such a caring and welcoming place. The staff is compassionate, attentive, and truly treats residents like family. The environment is clean, comfortable, and full of warmth. It’s reassuring to know loved ones are in good hands here. Highly recommend!
Edited to add for a response to the owner: your response and what you stated is ABSOLUTELY NOT MY FAMILY'S EXPERIENCE at Mercy House. If what you stated is true we would not have moved our mom. This place is not what it seems. Mercy House is chronically understaffed. Caregivers have been observed taking breaks and coming back "glassy eyed" and paying attention to their cellphones vs. the residents. There is a lack of training, especially in safe transfers. Skin tears get blamed on your loved one even when you have video evidence to the contrary. My loved on was moved from transfers to the hoyer lift because "Mercy House didn't want to play the blame game". My loved one is perfectly capable of assisting in their own transfers when the persons doing the transfers know what they are doing (proven at their new location). There is a significant lack of supervision of the caregivers. The supervisory staff when on sight spend a majority of their time in their office behind closed and/or locked doors. Medicine is either pushed on your loved one or withheld based on "opinions" regardless if it was prescribed. The doctor's office associated with this facility is hard to get in touch with and more times than not messages that are left do not get return calls. My loved on ended up in the hospital two times within a week based on an opinion that it was just allergies, which turned out to be pneumonia. We transferred our loved one straight from the hospital to a new location due to fear for their safety. Please do not consider moving your loved one here if you care about their health and safety. To the owner who responds to google reviews, don't bother. The information above was shared, don't ask now to get in contact because you care about feedback, that is simply not true.
Mercy House has good people doing their best for the residents. We are very pleased with the staff and the facility location.
Serious Safety and Supervision Concerns I strongly do not recommend this assisted living facility. We raised serious safety and care concerns that were not adequately addressed. The front gate has been broken for months, wheelchair access is difficult, and exterior areas had wasp nests, debris, and slip hazards. Cameras are not monitored, some do not function, and management does not oversee evening or overnight shifts. Although we were told residents are checked every two hours and not placed in bed early, our family-installed camera showed our father put in bed mid-afternoon on 01/11/2026 and left there for hours. On 12/27/2025, we were told he had been fed and put to bed early, yet he was awake and attempting to sit up when we arrived. The evening routine appeared focused on keeping residents seated, medicated, and put to bed early rather than encouraging mobility as outlined in intake materials. There was a clear lack of accountability and consistency in oversight. Communication within the chain of command and between shifts was poor, as important information was not consistently identified or relayed. Most concerning, on 01/12/2026 we requested a room change after repeated physical aggression from his roommate and provided video evidence to management. After installing a camera, we documented that our father was awake and mumbling throughout the night, yet staff were unaware. This raised serious concerns about overnight supervision and caregiver communication. The owner was frequently on-site but never engaged with residents or families. Due to ongoing concerns for our father’s safety and well-being, we ultimately made the decision to move him. Families deserve safe, accountable, and attentive care. That was not our experience.
Howdy. The Mercy House at 550 Rock St in New Braunfels Tx is the best place for memory care. My kids and I searched everywhere in the area (San Antonio, Seguin and New Braunfels). This was the best in terms of caring, food and entertainment. They have functions every day. I highly recommend Mercy House.
Handles their residents with such care and concern. Would recommend and trust Mercy with family and loved ones. 💗
