Gilbert's assisted living home has been my God sent. They are very attentive. Ronald and Ms Q provide a clean home. The food is excellent! If I could give them 100 stars, I would. They are family.
I recently experienced the sudden unexpected death of my mother who was the sole caregiver for my father who has dementia. I moved my father from Dallas to southeast TX. I originally placed my father in a home that I thought was going to care for him and it be his forever home after 1 week I had to pick him up because he was too aggressive and that was too much for them to handle. I have been taking care of my father alone basically since March so I didn’t understand. Needless to say I brought him home and the next day he ended up in the hospital with pneumonia (underlying condition COPD and emphysema) that alone could be detrimental for him. I made the hardest decision to place my dad on hospice. That same day the hospice facility sent the nurse to assess and accept him and then later in that evening another nurse came over and was listening to my story and suggested Gilbert’s Assisted Living she told me to go review the site and read the reviews ahead of time suggested to call and go visit the facility. I was apprehensive because of my last experience just weeks ago. The next day a social worker and the nurse also mentioned Gilbert’s. I decided to google and review the reviews everything looked good as did the other facility. At 7 pm 6/15/26 I called and to my surprise someone answered (Mrs. Q) and said there was an available bed and asked if I could call Mr. Ronald and let me just say I am glad I did. Let just say he listened to my concerns and my wows for an hour and asked me if I would let him help my dad. Still I was apprehensive until myself along with my dad paid a visit. I was absolutely amazed to say the least at what I had already heard was ACTUALLY what I saw. The other residents looked clean and comfortable, I walked into the smell of a home cooked meal that was prepared for the residents, Mrs. Q embraced me with the biggest hug and then immediately started tending to my dad. My dad sat in the recliner and got comfortable. Mr. Ronald and Mrs. Q assessed dad for 30 minutes and said they could help. I made the decision to place him there. Gilbert’s was a godsend. I hadn’t slept for a full night since March. If you need a place for your love one and not want the worry of safety and being a caregiver Gilbert’s is the place. The home is nice, inviting, and clean. Dementia is a terrible disease but they are trained and equipped to not only care but love your loved one as if they are a part of their own family.
I was able to place mom at Gilbert's Assisted Living when she became to weak and unable to take care of her own needs without assistance. I feel very lucky to have found them. She has been there for a while now and seems content, and is fitting in well. The assistants take excellent care of her needs, and mom has really liked the meals too! I'm thankful for their support during this time in mom's life.
I recently placed my mom in the care of Gilbert's Place. I couldn't be happier with the care she has been given. More like a home atmosphere for my mom. She is very happy there and she just loves Ron and Quananda Morrow. I am very grateful to have found this place.
Gilbert’s Assisted Living has been such a blessing to our family. After we moved Mom, it was obvious we had found something very special in Ronald, Qaunda and staff. After worrying about Mom for so long, I was finally able to relax. The night I saw them hug Mom good night and tell her they loved her, I knew we had found our angels. If you want the best for your loved one, start here.
Let me start off by saying that if I could give 10 plus stars - I would. I live in California and was the caregiver for my mother who lived in Texas. One of the hardest things to do is to care for a loved one, especially thousands of miles away. My mom was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and was in and out of the hospital a few times in a short period. Her health was failing and all I could do was pray. Once again, my mom was rushed to the hospital and I immediately flew out to see her. She was no longer able to care for herself as she lived alone. I needed to make sure that she would be safe after post-discharge and definitely wouldn't trust her going to a skilled nursing facility under the care of over-worked and underpaid staff, where she would be almost certain to have bed sores, etc., for lack of care. I didn't know which way to turn; praying for guidance, I was referred to Gilbert's Assisted Living from a rep from the Texas Adult Protective Services who gave high regards; THAT in and of itself speaks volume. God answered my prayer when I met and spoke to the owner, Mr. Ronald over the phone. He assured me that he would do everything he possibly could to help us Mr. Ronald stepped up to the plate like he promised. My husband and I went to the facility where we met Mr. Ronald and his right hand manager, Mrs. "Q' Quananda who was super helpful and professional. It was only by the grace of God that Mr. Ronald went to the extent that he did to assist us; visiting mom at the hospital shortly after the meeting with him at the facility, connecting me with additional resources, and making sure that my mom had a space at the facility upon discharge from the hospital. Unfortunately, my mom's health was declining quickly while in the hospital; the stay took a great toll on her. She was discharged and taken to Gilbert's. She was also under hospice care at the facility. Mr. Ronald was TRULY a BLESSING to me and my family, in fact, he treated us as family. They made sure that she had a favorite treats, foods, and anything else that she wanted. Although my mom had a short time to live after her hospital discharge, I couldn't see her in the care of anyone else but Gilbert's Assisted Living. Mr. Ronald and the staff were TRULY a blessing to us. They made sure that she was treated with dignity, respect, and like family. They also made sure to facetime me daily so that my mom and I could talk since I live so far away and I am forever grateful for that. Do not hesitate to consider this facility with it's attentive, loving, and caring staff. And trust me, they are NOT about the money. They are the epitome of a facility that has a heart for people and upstanding care. Gilbert's Assisted Living was truly a God-send. Give them a call today...it will be the best move that you can make for your loved one.
So great to have found this place to put my husband. Mrs Q and Ronald are very attentive to their patients. Very clean and nice. Rates are reasonable.
When my brothers and I were looking for a place to care for our parents, we were very lucky to find Gilbert's. Mr. Ronald and Mrs. Q and all of the caretakers provided a sincerely loving and caring environment for our dear parents. They went above and beyond for their challenging care and were very professional but most importantly very compassionate. I highly recommend Gilbert's for anyone looking for only the best care for their loved one.
