Highly recommend Golden Age Home for their exceptional, compassionate care. The facility has a warm, close-knit environment where safety and well-being are always top priorities. The caregivers are responsive, professional, and dedicated to helping residents thrive every day
Dear Staff and Residents at Golden Age, Thank you all for being my mother's extended family during the eight years she called Golden Age home. When she first arrived, she was very clear about her independence, drawing on her experience as a former nursing home administrator. She enjoyed the parties—especially the Christmas season—and I want to thank the staff and volunteers for making the holidays so special for the residents. As my mother’s needs changed, the care she received was exceptional. I especially want to thank Nicole, who cared for her like family, and Lucy, for the love she showed…
I especially want to thank Nicole, who cared for her like family, and Lucy, for the love she showed my mother before her move to nursing care. I also want to recognize Lupe and Marilyn for their kindness and constant willingness to help. The sense of community at Golden Age is truly unique. The residents feel like family and are always there for one another. I will never forget the resident who offered me a hug and a shoulder to cry on while I was preparing for my mother’s departure. Even though she has moved out, I still follow your Facebook page to see everyone. Faye, both my mother and I miss you; you were a true friend. To Nicole, Lucy, and the entire team: thank you. You will never be forgotten. Best regards, Kim Carter
Top notch facility with an amazing staff that provides compassionate care.
Golden Age Assisted Living is a true gem—one of those rare places where you can feel the difference the moment you walk through the door. As a chaplain who regularly visits residents here, I’ve had the honor of seeing how deeply the staff care, not just for—but about—the people who call this place home. Nicole, the Executive Director, leads with both heart and intention. She takes the time to truly listen and respond with genuine compassion. Lucy, the administrator, brings the same level of thoughtful care and attentiveness to her role, creating a calm and supportive environment for both residents and their families. Kristi, the Activity Director, brings energy and joy into every corner of the facility, and the many dedicated volunteers add that extra layer of love and personal connection that makes Golden Age so unique. What stands out most is how well the staff know the residents—not just their needs, but their stories, personalities, and preferences. This is a place where people are seen and valued, and where their well-being is always the top priority. Golden Age Assisted Living isn’t just a care facility—it’s a place where lives are honored and dignity is preserved. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a loving, reliable home for their loved one.
I toured Golden Age Home Assisted Living. Everybody seems really nice. The common areas were well put together, and everybody seemed pretty happy there. The thing is that the rooms are small, and there was a funny odor. They had a resident that had a couple of dogs, and you could smell that there were dogs there. They had what they called a half bath, it was just a toilet and a sink, there was no bathtub or shower or anything. It was a common shower out in the hallway and you had to go out of the hallway to get to bathe. The regular full bath had a little stand up shower, and the half bath didn't have a shower. The staff was really nice. When we talked about accessibility, I immediately realized my mother would need more help getting through the community, and they would be able to provide. She immediately started talking about their sister communities and nursing homes. She was very helpful. She was able to give me information about that.
We love GAH! We have had two family members stay throughout their PT rehab time. Their staff was helpful and caring, we appreciate the high level of communication and clear expectations. They are also doing great things in the community with all their kid events!
NICOLE IS THE BEST BY FAR! I LOVE GOLDEN AGE HOME. YALL ARE THE BEST!
Thank you to golden age home for being one of the most caring non profit assisted living communities in central Texas caring for Lockhart since 1960! They are always doing amazing activities for their residents and community.
