Heritage Place Assisted Living & Memory Care

While my father lived there about 2 years they had 3-4 different Directors and other management positions changes. Communication lacked from them to the families when there was change. When my father was in Memory Care the staff was awesome. They took great care of him. His Hospice was St Gabriel, they are the best and so caring. Thank you Lana and your staff. The day after my father died I went and moved his things out. Not once did the MC Director say anything about him dying. No caring words at all. I even talked to her about his things being moved out. He died on Jan 24th, the first of Feb I noticed they took his Feb payment out. The Financial Lady in the main office said no one told them he died. So now it will take them 4 weeks to return his rent. No communication. They especially don’t return phone calls.

My father currently stays here. His name is Bill. He is the kindest soul one could ever encounter. He is an educated, articulate, and brilliant man. He has advanced frontal lobe dementia and has lost his ability to do anything on his own. He has a loving family in constant contact with him. We have trusted this facility to take care of our loved one and they have failed on every facet. My siblings and I have a camera in his room and what I have seen and how some (not all) treat him is absolutely deplorable. He had fallen and been hospitalized for several days recently. His hip is tender, and to see someone on camera, YELLING at him to “get up”. No good morning, just “get up” as he’s wincing in pain. No concern, no decency, no humanity. If you hate elderly people, maybe don’t get a job at a memory care facility? The night before, the “aid” acting in a similar fashion, yelling at him to “MOVE OVER” (repeat 4x) in his bed. I can’t imagine being screamed at while I’m disoriented. How terrifying for someone with a mental incapacity. I’m so angry right now at this treatment of a loved one, I’m shaking. He is someone’s child, someone’s father, and someone’s soul mate. I can only speculate as to what happened before we installed a camera. Maybe too little, too late. I don’t doubt this is not an easy job, and probably not lucrative, but there is a severe lack of decency at this facility. Shame on you.

The care and kindness shown to my husband and me has meant so much to me! It is hard to leave my husband anywhere but the choice we made to choose Heritage was the right choice .

I would not rate this place. I would not suggest this place to anybody. They’re very rude disrespectful especially the nurse and the lady at the front desk you go in and the smell was overwhelming. Nobody seems to do their job. The nurse wants to put blame on other people and taking responsibility for her own actions and you just don’t approach family like the nurse approach the family and tell people that that your family member needs to be put in in a nursing home and don’t need to be there because they won’t comply With certain things Very rude And they shouldn’t even get a star one at all, but it won’t let you go any further until you put some kind of stupid star

Staff is very rude to family members and refuses to help people who are staying in their facility they are very disrespectful and refuse to help anyone they also neglect the people who are staying in the facility and are committing elder abuse I would not recommend this place to anyone they best place to go is elk Creek.
