The staff are friendly and helpful. [name removed] (one of the co-owners) is very helpful when contacted for any issues. [name removed] the house manager is always great and very friendly. The house itself is in ok shape. The food is below average and underwhelming for residents who like good food.
We’re deeply grateful to Linda and the rest of the staff at Live Oak Estates for the compassionate and respectful care they gave my mother during her short stay. Their kindness and support during such a difficult time meant so much to our family. Thank you for everything.
The day staff was great and very helpful. I was there every day as after nearly 68 years he didn't want me to leave. As for the night staff I don't know he complained about never answered his bell ringing but I don't know as I wasn't there. I really didn't have a problem with anything over there. At [age removed] I was not able to care for him at home.
I appreciate the homey feel and family-style living the residents experience.
They were really great! I was there most every day and knew the daytime staff and became friends. They had a Hoyer lift as my husband could not get out of bed with out being hoisted. It was also closer to my home in south Austin and the only facility that could accommodate him.
My loved one is a resident at Live Oak Estates. The facility is nice and the staff are friendly. Communication has been good. Overall, I would recommend it, yes, especially for someone who is still a little independent but in need of daily assistance.
My father lived the last two years of his life at Live Oak Estates. After suffering from a stroke eight years ago, he had been in and out of hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living homes, including some of the most expensive options in town. We had mostly negative experiences at these places and a couple of positive ones, but none more positive than at Live Oak. Though no place is perfect, the staff at Live Oak were consistently kind, caring and attentive to my father. We found that, while most care facilities had a few great staff members, one or two jaded individuals could make life miserable for my father, sending him into anger and depression, which is why the consistency of kindness at Live Oak was so significant and meaningful for him and for his family. Live Oak is a small, intimate setting with less staff turnover than other facilities we experienced. This allowed my father to get to know the staff, to appreciate and to trust them. We’re lucky that we found this place and that my father lived the last years of his life feeling cared for and appreciated.
