Visited my mom. I mistakenly gave this place four stars when in all actuality they do not even deserve one star. It took management eight days to send someone out for a bedbug infestation. I took it upon myself to remove the sofa and chair that were infested and they charged my mother 50 dollars for each item they discarded. Almost two months later these items were still sitting behind the dumpster where I discarded them. If you have elderly or disabled people you care about this is not the best of place for them. Currently my mother is being singled out by one of the management employees and has been going through an enormous amount of stress due to this.

On each floor is your own garbage Chute along with a washing machine and a dryer on the first floor ,we have all the mailboxes and a little grocery store and nice piano in the main room ,they have a community center they serve you different foods from the pantry bread from different stores with salads and cookies sometime some meat vegetables on Tuesday and every Thursday and Friday and half a day Saturday .... you couldn't ask for any more and is all located in the same building for which you live. ... you never have to step outside and they also have security in the halls .in the elevators and maintenance on call. this is a little Paradise. They also have social workers to help you with any problems you may entail!

I had been to Rebekah Baines. The staff gave me a tour and answered all the questions that I had. I liked the facilities. The rooms were in good size. When I was there, I saw them walking and doing a little exercise. I liked that everybody had their own little space.

While in the Austin area, we decided to take a tour of the Rebekah Baines Johnson Center as an option for my brother's friend. We really liked the location, which is very near Lady Bird Lake. The high-rise building appeared very well maintained and to be a very safe place for seniors to live. The outer grounds featured a lovely courtyard with manicured lawns, trees and nice seating areas to enjoy. Each interior room had great views of the city and provided natural light. The accommodations resembled what could be found in a high-end hotel - with even more amenities. The many activity rooms and were all nicely decorated. Activities ranged from board games, to discussions and other hosted events, to private readings and film screenings and TV. The outside activities they plan regularly include everything from visiting local restaurants, to the public library, and day trips to nearby regions and cultural events. The dining areas were beautiful. The food and snacks we saw looked nutritious and delicious and are offered many times during the day and provided when requested. The living spaces were well-designed and spacious. All of the areas were pleasant to be in and we could see that the residents thought so, too. There was plenty of professional, yet friendly staff to take care of everything. They have planned exercise classes - but also offer residents to work out any time they wish. We liked that they encourage exercise regularly. The staff is well-versed at taking care of a variety of types of people. We were glad we took the time to look at this facility and it is in the running as one of the better places we visited in the region. Anyone who lives in this environment is sure to be quite content with the many amenities and the kind, competent and caring staff.
