The owner will say anything to get a new resident. My mom was a resident less than 30 days before she passed. Care was non existent. Almost daily we were asked to provide additional food or items that were part of the monthly fees. My mom never left her bed and there was always an excuse why they had to keep her in bed. They asked for a baby cam. Once provided they would just watch her waste away and never enter the room. The 2 facilties are old, dirty, and the staff does not provide necessary care. Everyone is just a family member and not properly trained staff.

Shady Hollow is a beautiful house with big shady trees and grassy yard. It is well kept and very clean. It is a peaceful environment and my room was quiet with a large window. [names removed]and the owner [name removed]were very caring and paid great attention to the residents. The meals were very healthy and the clothes were always laundered. Charlie the dog added to the ambiance. The spacious backyard had big trees and a vegetable garden. All in all it was an awesome place and I miss them.

The caretakers administered care to our entire family — so inclusive and informative on the day to day with as much verbal detail as requested. Very open, honest and concerned for the patient and her loved ones. They were willing to address any questions, confusions or circumstances. Our family was happy with the 24hour attention to our loved one.

I’m always grateful for the time my mom spent at Shady Hollow Assisted Living. I could walk away and know that my mom was with an excellent comfort care team. They monitored her carefully 24/7. The home is peaceful, clean and organized. My mom went from failure to thrive to wanting to thrive again after a few months in their care. The Dr. released Mom from hospice and is now under a Geriatrics care team. Mom can now walk with a walker and we’re now working on keeping her thriving! This care team is extremely knowledgeable and prepared to also offer a loving & peaceful place to pass. I highly recommend this team.

When Mom passed away suddenly after Dad had neck surgery to regain the use of his hands, he was in mourning for Mom , his bride of 67 years. His rehab didn’t go well and when we brought him back to Assisted Living , he couldn’t stand, feed himself or pivot. I literally had three days to find him a place to live. This private home was 12 minutes from my house. I met with the owner and the caretakers. He had a private room, hospice care and round the clock caretakers. Words cannot express the excellent care they took care of my Dad. They engaged him wit positivity every day. Made him smile and laughter. And were there for him and myself as Dads condition worsened. They were God sent angels. Dad passed away Thanksgiving night. He missed Mom so much. I highly recommend this private home especially if you live in South Austin. Dad died with loving caretakers. I’ll never forget them.

My sister was in Shady Hallow II. They showed her such compassionate care. This facility was such a blessing to our family. They were attentive, and flexible which allowed us to navigate through the final days of my sisters life.
