Resident & family reviews

Overrated and overpriced. Staff turnover rate is high. The food is an insult considering the cost of rent. The 2 nurses are both very caring and compassionate. They keep the place clean and the upkeep seems to be about average.

Brookdale Lake Brazos truly stands out for its compassionate, high-quality care. From the aides to the wellness directors, the team is dedicated to every resident. Sha and Hope are amazing and genuinely care so much, and Kristi, the Admissions Coordinator, makes the transition process smooth and comforting for families. Misty and Claire, the Activity Directors, do an incredible job creating fun and meaningful events for residents. Overall, it’s a community where people are truly cared for and treated like family. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love Brookdale Lake Brazos in Waco! The care and compassion shown here truly set this community apart. A special shoutout to Sha, the Director of Nursing, and Hope, the ADON, both go above and beyond to ensure every resident is not only cared for, but genuinely valued and loved. Their dedication to quality care and attention to each individual’s needs does not go unnoticed. If you or a loved one are looking for a place where residents are treated like family and receive exceptional support from a compassionate nursing team, this is absolutely the place to be. Highly recommend!

Dad needed a little additional support than what he was receiving at his Independent Living home and it was time to make the move to assisted living. We found Brookdale Lake Brazos, with assistance from A Place for Mom and could not be happier! The staff and support during the move (ice weekend in January) was outstanding! Dad has been very happy with his new home and has wonderful things to say about the staff and residents. So many people came to introduce themselves over those first days! We had a health scare with Dad about a month after he moved and I cannot express how quickly they responded and kept me updated as to the situation (I live out of state). Afterwards, Dad made the comment that he really feels like he is in a place that cares about him. I highly recommend Brookdale Lake Brazos and know that Dad is happy, safe and secure.

I am so grateful for Brookdale Senior Living. The entire staff has been so kind and welcoming to my mom. Kristi and Aaron were so kind and helpful to me in anticipating my mom’s arrival, as we had to move her across the country. My mom loves her new home; she often says how comfortable she is, and that she is making friends and enjoying the many activities. What a relief to know she is in such good hands. And you can’t beat the garden and river view. It is a really beautiful setting.

They don't help the patients. Get on the bus to go to the doctor's office. If I could, I would get them at 0? I think this place is a waste of your money. They are understaffed and no one cares

My Grandpa lived in Brookdale for awhile. They were overpriced, understaffed and neglectful. His room was over $5,000 a month and they didn’t even provide toiletries! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Multiple times I went to see him, no one had changed his bed. His clothes and diaper were full of urine and feces. I always had to Ask them to do it. When he couldn’t get out of bed, I noticed they gave him water and food but out of his reach. He couldn’t even get a drink because no one helped him and he couldn’t even get some himself 😢 He went downhill so fast. We moved him elsewhere.
