Great place, wonderful people, good activities daily and the staff are the best.

It was perfect for our needs. Mom is still independent. She doesn't need assisted living at this point. All the assisted living facilities that I looked at shared laundry facilities, didn't have a separate garage for each resident nor full kitchens. Emerald Cottages was perfect for her!

Lived there for little over a year and left. There are 32 cottages which were very dark inside and most occupants closed their blinds making it more darker. Very little social interaction among and between the occupants. Each unit had a tub, but lacked grip rails making them unsafe to use for seniors. Average age of occupants 80's. There were 13 couples, 16 widows, 3 single men. A total of 16 men and 29 women. Social activities were nominal and consisted of a free lunch every other week with a lunch outing the other week. No group travel or excursions. The streets are public roads and…

My parents have been at Emerald Cottages of Waco for several years now. They like it there. They like its location, their fellow residents, and they like the facilities. They like their apartments, it is very well done. It's upscale, for what it is. The facilities are nice, the grounds are nice, and the price reflects it. The staff is nice. However, since it's independent living, their interaction with the staff is more limited than it would be if they were in assisted living.

We were able to visit the Emerald Cottages. It's more of an independent living unit, so you would have your own apartment or house. We saw a 2-bedroom and 2-bath cottage. As far as looks, it was updated and seemed nice and very clean. The marketing director, I believe her name was Jenny, came from her house to personally give us the tour because we didn't know that they don't give tours on Saturdays and we came from a 40-mile drive. To keep us from having to come back another day, she came on her own time, let us in, and showed us around. I thought that was very nice of her. She told us about the place and showed us the separate living area. It seemed nice. Since it was independent living, we would have our cottage and occasionally we could go to the dining hall. Mainly, it was just like being in our own home. I'm sure there are activities for people to do, but we were more interested in the rooms and the cottages themselves.

We chose Emerald Cottages of Waco because it was the only one we found that fit all of our desires. Facilities like that are limited around here. The apartment sizes here are great, we are in a 2 bedroom. I would want others to know that the location and access to this facility are excellent. I would highly recommend to others.

I went on a virtual tour using the Zoom application with [name removed] from Emerald Cottages of Waco. I had a wonderful experience throughout my visit with Lynda and viewing the wonderful two bedroom two bath one car garage apartment floor plan. This apartment was beautiful and had everything necessary for a comfortable and pleasant living style. Thank you, [name removed].

I'm living at Emerald Cottages of Waco. I like its size, the size of the rooms, it's very well constructed, the woodworking is nice, and the kitchen is nice. Everything is nice about it. The staff is wonderful. The lady I've dealt with is the best, and she has done everything to make our move-in comfortable. I cook my own food in my kitchen, but they have luncheons every now and then for us. People rent their own cottages, and we have great activities at the clubhouse. This is a perfect place for me.
