A local retirement facility, initially enjoyed mostly by teachers and other educators, but reportedly open to any profession now. It is a relatively small, personal faculity. First, l went to volunteer with a Hospice client. Now, I go to donate extra items l receive as a result of my donating to various causes. There are always clients sitting near the front desk, some ambulatory, others in assistive devices, others sitting outside enjoying themselves. ALL in a good mood and interacting with each other. The two staff l have met at the desk have always been greatful and welcoming. It appears…

I went to Stilwell Retirement. I love the surroundings of the outside. It's nice, comfortable, and cool, and that's what my sister is used to. That's what caught my attention when I saw it because it's a lot of shade. And she likes being outside because she used to run a ranch and they had cows and everything, and she likes that kind of background. When I went inside, the lady at the reception was nice. She tried to find someone who could help me and since she couldn't she did it herself. She showed me all the little rooms and stuff that they do activities. And she showed me the bedroom, the…

She tried to find someone who could help me and since she couldn't she did it herself. She showed me all the little rooms and stuff that they do activities. And she showed me the bedroom, the washing room and all this. And they had a little store. I was impressed about that because my sister loves to snack. And then I met some of the residents and they were so nice. They welcomed us. So, I will bring her down here sometime next week. But it was a nice place, nice and clean. I've seen the trays go through. I didn't get the chance to stop at the eating time, but I've seen a couple of trays and the food looks good. The place is cozy and comfortable. And if I had somewhere to go, that's where I want to go.
I toured Stilwell Retirement. Some facilities were not operating and looked like they hadn't been operating in a while. The little kitchenette at one end of the wing looked like it had been shut down for some months, and blocked up with storage, and you couldn't go in there and use the kitchen. The refrigerator, microwave, and stove, the people who lived there could not use one of them except the kitchenette. It was more old school. It wasn't as modern and airy, but still nice and clean, very respectable, and the staff was fine.
Love it. Have made so many new friends and don't ever have to be alone.
I'm in Stilwell Retirement. It's wonderful. Everyone is happy. It's just a nice environment. A lot of the residents are retired teachers. The staff is wonderful down to the people in the dining room. They're so warm. It is unbelievable really. My room has a nice large bath and shower, and it's freshly painted and carpeted. There are windows looking out. It's nice. It has a refrigerator and a microwave. They have a garden. The food is good. It's spotless.
Stilwell Retirement was inviting, warm, kind, loving, thought out, intimate, and a place where someone could grow and build a friendship. I haven't tasted the food yet, but I guarantee it's good. My husband and I were both so impressed. We like the library, the little shopping room, and the game area, and we love the chapel with the worship service. The staff was incredible. The things that they had put their heart into come from a heart of sincerity and that's what makes the place wonderful. The apartments were roomy and safe and I felt like the location was safe. It had a lot of things close by like there's a walking trail right across the street that the church donated for them to be able to walk on. There's shopping within 5 minutes and the shuttle transportation was awesome. I just was very impressed with the close-knit community of that place.
It is a clean community. They are super friendly people. My loved one does not complain about the food. My loved one loves to play Bingo. We picked this community because, my loved one felt comfortable, and it was affordable. Overall, I would recommend to other families.
The staff here are very loving and caring. As far as the food goes, they try to make it sound fancy but I think they should just cook normal, everyday food and the residents would be happy with it.
